Any shops or techs anyone can recommend?
I am tempted to go OEM from the dealer but insurance will only cover $300 of $2K, and I know they may not be experienced replacing them either...
I'd like to talk to someone about aftermarket options.
I've seen very few older ones. there's a beautiful 80 near me in the East end. I have an '05 LX470 that I recently imported when I moved back north last year.
Giant dent? That's character.
Needless to say, if a dent on this 53 year old items puts you off, you're clearly intending to assemble something a little more pristine than the truck it came off of.
Hi All,
I replaced my original oil filter a few years ago and sentimentality at the time kept me from selling it.
In any case, I'm ready to send it to a good home now! It's the original, messy, reusable coffee car style filter and the mounting hardware that was with it for the F engine...
Hi all,
Haven't seen anything about this in my searches. In my '05 LX I am getting what seems like an electrical 'click' from the passenger side of the vehicle. It happens intermittently, but often when I am driving. Its seems like some sort of internal component because it's quiet - maybe a...
Enjoy the trip! Curious as to where your LX came from? I plan to import mine to Canada in a year or so and am equally pleased that it's such a rare car in Canada, and apprehensive because the gas bill will be exorbitant!
It's an '05 with 98K miles. I bought it at 90K and know it was well maintained, but really it's all a mystery. I've replaced AHC fluid and done this just for reassurance.
I used OEM replacement T's and hoses so no issues even if the plastic shards had come off. Was easy to just remove the clips on the six feeder lines and cut the hose ends to pull them off. I then rebuilt the assemblies for each side and simply plugged them onto the aluminum ends.
Ah - ok. I was skeptical about the warranty message and in fact the service record for it's replacement had a 50/50 split comment; now I understand why.
I'll take the Costco advice and head over there today.
Thanks All - very helpful. I did pull the battery and the service record for my car which I bought last year. Battery was replaced in April 2012 and is OEM so says on it it has a 7 year warranty. If the trickle charge fails I'll take it to Lexus and hope they honor the warranty.
Forgive the rudimentary battery question, but electrical systems are not my forte.
Left the lights on a few weeks ago and came back to a dead battery. Jumped it and all seemed ok until I got back from a week long trip and the car was dead again. Now every time I start it after 12+ hours it...
It's an '05. Would love to head out there with some other Toyotas. Will keep an eye on the club page. Looks like a few people are planning to go out this weekend but unfortunately I can't make it.
Went last weekend and had a great time! Short post here:
Some pics of a basically stock 100 (LX470) on trails
Can't go this time, but will watch this thread for the next trip.
Was out at Hidden Falls TX last weekend with some Jeep friends. Delighted with how well the truck did. It Creeped perfectly over some of the steps that the other trucks stumbled on. Funny how surprised the heavily modded Jeepers were, both at the performance and the fact I'd take it on trails...
Over the last few weeks. Flushed the AHC, removed the running boards, put on slee sliders and went off-roading at Hidden falls outside of Austin!
Surprised the Jeep crew!
