Have a new key made from best key you have. All vehicles around 1986 had a Hide-a-Key on the frame that was not used very often and a tube of Blistex.
I think it was required back then.
It is common for the key to wear out before the ignition sw pins and a new cut key was cheaper to try first.
Carb icing? Happens most often above freezing temps 35-60f. Humidity turns to ice inside the carb at the Venturi.
Make sure the vacuum line is connected (and in good condition) to the carb heat valve on top and at the end of the air filter housing/inlet and the tube going down to the exhaust...
I would ck with Slee for replacement parts (I'm sure they have lots) and their experience with the bushings.
When the faulty bushings are installed, they look and feel just like any other we have installed for many years but after getting compressed and rebound the bushings act more like old...
I found the bug bouncer that I had on my white '87 4x min truck up in the attic covered up by gun boxes:hmm:. It is about 8 inches tall and smoked flat plexiglass. Grass hoppers and other insects that size were not redirected at 55-60 mph and I am sure it made a lot of noise.
I would send it to...
I installed the OEM hood deflector many years ago and it has done its job well to protect the leading edge of the hood from rock dents and chips. The only place on this one that touches paint is under the hood and no paint loss. I have not noticed any wind noise over the ringing in my ears that...
With that last description I don't think your rig has the dreaded "clunk". Turning like you have described was not an indicator for the "clunk".
It would most often make the clunk when going over some thing like a a speed bump in a parking lot or off road, or a sharp 2 inch rise pulling in to...
Sounds like "The dreaded clunk", staring the top rubber mounting bushings supplied with BP51 and Nitrocharger shocks by ARB. The rubber material will loose or never had the right amount of elasticity causing slop in the top mount even if installed properly. The "clunk" has been covered...
I have not added any type of block, oil pan or battery heater mainly because there are not many places to plug in when at work, trail heads and parking in a field while duck hunting on the Big Horn River at -32F and not a current bush in sight. Keep track of the age and condition of your...
I found it, well sort of...In my OM on p.395

Outside temperature display
"The displayed temperature ranges from -22F (-30C) up to 122F (50C)
The picture is pointing to the CD slot on the radio not at the top of the dash digital display.
The lowest temp indicated on the dash of my 2011LC was -40f last year here in Bozeman.
Has any one found the low and high temp limits of the system itself? The display dropped down to -40f real fast that morning then didn't change +/- at all until I restarted after sitting for a couple of...
There was no wind here in BZN. It did warm up to a high of -20f below, and still no wind.
I tried to run summer windshield cleaner mix (once) thinking I was going to drain and fill it with winter stuff before winter arrived, nah I won't do that again.
Wisconsin weather here in Bozeman MT, -39f below this morning. Something always howls for a couple of seconds under the hood but then quits in 3-5 seconds. My 80 series made the same noise during real cold start up.
I use winter mix windshield washer fluid year round, -20, -30, -35 depends what...
Thank you for that flashback! Mr. Carlson was right about the t-shirts. I wish I still had my Boston t-shirt. Great concert! Lots of memories.
Happy Thanksgiving
Adhesive or missing hardware could be the reason for the light assembly pushing in. The fog lights have a reflector on the inside that moves independently of the outer housing. You can reach the three bolts/nuts that secure the fog light assembly from below as if you were adjusting the beam...
