The problem with Mud is your timeline is posted so I can see how long it really takes to accomplish some things.😳 Well I have hated the exhaust on my 60 since I bought it in 2012. In 17 this happened ( What did you do with your 60 this weekend?) and shortly there after I bought a Manafre...
So I take the dogs for a hike and when I return I get a faint whiff of burnt oil.
I start looking around and see oil leaking from the pushrod cover.
Mostly above the fuel pump but also at the rear of the engine.
My engine has good compression and doesn’t smoke but, my question is do I just...
I hate Previous owners or their mechanics hack jobs. There is no excuse for not using the proper tool unless it’s a trail repair. This was not. And how do you set the preload with the chisel? Rant over...
Well it was time.
Really just the drivers seat had a hole and the cushion was collapsed and the door panels had the normal cracking along the top.
After weighing all the options. BMW seats, covers from various vendors etc. I decided to just have a local guy do it after I saw some work he did on...
Any ideas on plugging this hole?
My thoughts are to thread the brass? part and use a steel or brass plug but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has a good solution.
I couldnt wait for a kit any more, my pump (rebuilt, lasted about two years) was leaking and groaning.
Plus I thought the kit would be expensive and I like to work those things out on my own.
I needed to keep the smog pump for now so I decided to modify the Toyota power steering pump bracket.
I...
Anybody with experience? I'm just talking with the pump removed. I know it will work mechanically but how hard is it?
I'm just talking short term while I fab brackets for my own Saginaw conversion.
Some lowlife smashed the quarter window in my rear door.
Toyota says I ordered the last one in North America but in the mean time I remembered a friend had spare doors.
The job was surprisingly easy but I thought I'd do a write up here.
Lower winding window, remove inner door panel (1 screw in...
As a New Mexico truck the only place it has rust was in the left rear arch.
With the wet summer we had it was definitely progressing so time to address it.
First sand down the area to see how far it's progressed.
My 86 60 needs a new engine. Failed emissions due to high HC caused by low compression in #4, bad valves.
I want to keep it Toyota. I plan on keeping it forever
My original plan was to build a 2fe but now I'm a little more pressed for time as I want to keep the truck on the road.
My options at...
P.O. Installed some 6x9 s in the side panels in the rear. The weight has overwhelmed the fasteners. Anybody have a source for the plastic inserts that go into the body and the plastic buttons that go into the panel? Toyota only? Part numbers?
Thanks
The horn doesn't work, I know it's probably in the steering wheel but I can't physically locate the horns. Maybe they were removed so before I take the steering wheel apart I'd like to test them. Where do they hide them?
Im new here, been looking for a while.
My wife bought an 86 fj, it didnt pass smog and I took it to the wrong shop, six weeks later it passed but barely ran. Finally found a shop that specializes in Toyota's and now it runs pretty good.
A few small rust spots on the left rear arch, paint is OK...
