If it's the electrical contacts of the EDIC system, would it be acting up at all times and not just at a specific rpm? I've never encountered the EDIC symptoms mentioned and I could be way off base  Another test to do is rev the engine at 1500RPM in neutral and observe!

look for # 88539 at bottom of pic, rubber hose going through floor for dripping condensed water outside beneath vehicle.
I usually change the filter after the engine is warmed up, it eliminates the need to glow the plugs when you start it up. Probably more useful in cooler weather!
Filling the new filter is also recommended, some people dump the old filter contents into the new one.
I did removed the cowl on mine and the plastic grills(big & small), didn't see any protruding lip for the air inlet! I'll have to take a double look when time permits it. Mice can climb up the drain holes and bypass the plastic grills and into the air inlet if anyone has that problem:oops:
This is also where mice find their way into the cabin, a S/S mesh should do the trick! Now to find how to get to this area without taking the truck apart in pieces :hmm:
My 85bj60 was using R12 and high pressure was around 206-213psi and low pressure was 21-28psi.
IIRC, the R134A runs at a higher pressure, I've no clue how much more.
Could there be moisture in the system?
Thinking on these gears, it wasn't necessary to remove them. My bad, figuring the other side bearings had to be removed to allow removing the C locks doh! Live and learn :cautious:
