    Started my HG replacement and SC install tonight

    finished my HG a month ago. The exhaust studs came out easy and I did not have to take the pipes loose at the frame. The exhaust cam gear is spring loaded so you put a bolt in it to keep the pressure on it. good luck

    HG failed 12/05, typical numbrer 6 blow out. I waited to get work space finished so finally got started 12/06. Worked on it couple hours when I had time. Started it up 4/29 and it ran great. Had the white smoke on start up for about 5 minutes, but no missing or rough idle. Passed emission test...

    VSV, what else while the intake is off?

    Just to add my two cents, you can change the VSV if your hand is small enough (honey I need you a minute). Info on here saved me $800

    Blew a Gasket

    97 40th edition, 145K. Bought a year ago with 135K. sold my 93 with 185K, never had a problem in 10 years, Birfs needed attention but ran great. Don,t know when I'll get to the head gasket, but I know I can count on you guys for tips. thanks again.

    Sent Paypal to IdahoDoug for DVD. I have been watching for a long time and I want to thank all you guys for the info. You told me how to replace my VSV . Dealer wanted $800 to do the job, cost me less than $100. (thank God for my small hands). Have to replace head gasket now. will do PHH also.
