I really wouldn't worry about not having the navigation and I'd think most buyers would not know the difference on the stereo. I, on the other hand, bought one without the nav and ML stereo and REALLY REALLY miss the stereo!! It can be hard to upgrade the stereo in these with the fronts being...
State Farm wrote me a check, so they kept it and probably sold for parts. I got an FZJ80 the next week. The frame was slightly bent and cracked in one place where the running board tried to go through it. It really didn't look too bad...the BMW was really destroyed though.
Glad you are okay! I can vouch for the strength of the 80s as well! I was t-boned by a BMW 745i that was going 45mph. It pushed me all the way through the intersection and up onto a curb. The front wheels of the BMW were pushed back about 8". I DROVE my LC to the shop...where they totaled...
Finally did something to the GX!
Well after 11 months, I finally did something fun with the GX. Not huge, but I put a Yakima rack on it this afternoon. Next will probably be tires, but this should help give it a sporty look. Let me know what you think.
My GX after snow driver
Great looking trucks guys...
I need to get some more pictures up of my GX, but here is one from last weekend after spending the week in North Carolina mountain snow! It was AMAZING in the snow, as expected. Pulled out quite a few stuck folks on my way up the...
I am looking for a complete set of screws, etc. to re-install running boards on my 80-series. If you have put on sliders or anything and have a set of hardwear, please let me know. Thanks, Steve
I personally haven't tested the ProComp on a vehicle of my own, but I haven't heard great things about the ProComps...this was coming from a guy that works at Southern Off-road. Does anyone run them and have an opinions?
Steve
I looked into so many options, but without building a pod for the speakers to go into that will add depth to the door panel, you cannot fit a 6.5" speaker in a cruiser, the magnets are simple too big. The requires cutting the whole door panel and molding something for the speakers to fit in...
Here are some pictures of what I have done with the stereo...would love to see some others! It isn't the best looking thing in the world, but to get what I wanted it works. Let me know if you have any questions.
I don't seem to notice it with my Cruiser. I actually think it is a little better with less gas. But I do have a '91 4Runner that I SWEAR runs better with a full tank of gas. Either we are both nuts or there is some correlation. Anyone else notice?
Steve
BigMac,
I am currently experiencing the EXACT same problem. I was stuck the other day because I coudln't back up in some deep sand. I also can't back my car trailer up an steep hills. Have you had any luck getting the problem fixed? I would love to NOT replace the tranny, haha.
Thanks...
I haven't calculated anything for the extra weight from the wheels, but the overall wheel and tire size is close to stock. I do run about 80mph on the highway which increases my fuel consumption a fair amount. I have always kept the car well maintained, is there anything I should into that...
Yeah, I have noticed! I kinda knew going into it but did it anyway. It loves to float around a bit on the highway and get stuck in ruts in the road. I wish I could tighten the steering some.
97 Cruiser
I seem to be getting the worst mpg on here! I have a 97 Cruiser (LX450) and got about 10 mpg last tank, all downtown city driving. I don't even have a lift and am running A/T (285/60 R18). On the highway, I get no better than 13 mpg, usually less than 250 miles. I guess I either...
