Yup, it breaks my heart to sell it. It's not hard to add up the numbers on things like a transfer case rebuild, new tires, stereo, etc on an already nice vehicle and see that I've got a bunch of money in this thing and just trying to step away from it now. The labor in going through the...

Try a couple Elemental Designs 7Kv.2 Subwoofers in the trunk area. I flush mounted a couple in the back of mine and push them with a small diamond audio amp I picked up for cheap. They look like factory. www.edesignaudio.com

I was just noticing that the difference between the Dakar Light/Medium and they Heavy Duty is the addition of a leaf in each spring pack and that the leaf is available separately to convert a L/M duty to a HD setup. That said, it is easy enough to buy an HD setup and remove the extra leaf at...
I just made the drive from Kalispell to NC in my '60. It's a good trip. Had the same intermittent problem with the temp gauge spiking. Took me 4 days as well. Glad you made it safely. Funny that you noted Rapid City in your post. I overheated (for real) there and drove through an...
Did the Seafoam treatment tonight, flushed the engine and changed the oil, swapped in a fresh set of plugs. The Seafoam made quite a bit of smoke, hopefully did some good. I noticed that after I completed the treatment and swapping the plugs it started hard and idled a bit rough. I took it...
I just started a thread on this topic before seeing this thread. I failed today and am working on solving the issue. I did pickup a can of additive at NAPA that claims to guarantee a pass. I'm going ahead and doing a few other things in addition to that, we'll see if it works... My CO...
So I took my recently acquired 60 to get it emissions tested today and since it came from a state that has no emissions testing I was a little worried.... Turns out that while I did fail, it's pretty close to passing.

I haven't tried MSD on my cruiser but I had a built 350 in a Nova a few years back. When I went from a basic HEI to MSD the difference was fairly dramatic. Started much easier, more power, idled better. Much different engine but I'd imagine some of the effects would be similar.
mine were rusted up pretty good, got 90% of it off in short order just using some turtle wax chrome polish I had lying around. The chrome on the stock wheels is pretty high quality, it's amazing how well they'll clean up.
Thanks for the warm reception. It was quite an experience driving that beast home. We had a great trip. Yeah, I'm pretty lucky that not only did she agree to do the trip but was in 100% and loves the Cruiser more than ever. She has named the cruiser "Montana".
I've done most of a tuneup...
So I've been lurking for a few weeks, figured I'd share that I'd recently picked up an '87 FJ60.
My wife and I were recently vacationing in Whitefish, MT about halfway through a road trip that started in Seattle, WA. After a little kayaking on the Whitefish river we were sitting and eating...
