Thanks for the troubleshooting help! I had this same problem wiring up a "painless" wiring harness without a harness to reference. Once I switched the wires everything worked perfectly!
Thanks for the links as I didn't think to cross reference other Toyota models. Will this fit in the dash with a little modification to the radio case ( remove tabs)? Also will my existing faceplate attach ( knob spacing, push buttons)?

You can use a 17mm wrench to loosen then nut and then loosen them by hand afterwards. Just make sure to hold on to the nut as you feed the cable out so it doesn't fall behind the heater. Also make sure you put the beauty ring on and thread thru the nut with the indented side towards the dash to...
X-mas came early and the little ball finally came out if the big hole! I want to thank Pinhead for the videos and advice and sggoat for the the response. With the combo I was able to get it out and complete the rebuild!!!!!!
