Interesting information ... thanks ... it would sure decrease costs and effort. Additionally, I could use more space inside, two large dogs, and the wife believes in being prepared ... food, water, extra fuel, handguns, long guns, spare ammo, etc. ;)
But "standard" WB lenght would make a lot...
Don't know how the hell that happened???? Wasn't on purpose ... and I want to build a Cruiser?
Bob (Aqualu) sent me several pitures of their frame ... they are having some web update issues <g>. I believe Bob participates on this forum ... it ISN'T advertising if I ask you to post them is it...
Howdy. A Saturday night fantasy/hallucination … Aqualu can produce an aluminum body to whatever dimension because it’s all in a computer (I think) … at least Todd indicated a while back that a stretch was just not a problem. Now, with Aqualu producing new frames I am assuming that the frames can...
I just saw a set of new, factory style aluminum front fenders at Cruiser Solutions.

Anyone know if these are made by Aqualu ... sort of a second generation from them? They do look nice to me.

?
OK ... now I'm confused, more than usual. The web site never turned in a google search ... and it hasn't been updated in a while ... doors are still "prototype" ...
Are they still viable? I may try to call tomorrow if I get a chance. Thanks to all ...

Mace ... thanks for the info, once again, you answered another question I had earlier in the week. I'm "planning/halucinating" a build to coincide with my retirement ... I've got to be one of the oldest "old farts" on this list ;)
I'm considering having Aqualu build a lenthened Aluminum...
Howdy. Assuming that a 44 actually exists ... very little out there in Google land. Can anybody point me to specs for the 44. Specifically the wheelbase and overall length. Thanks.
bruce
Is the red one a factory FJ44? Anyone know the wheel base and the increased length behind the rear wheels?
Just guessing ... but it looks like the wb is +/- 10 inches longer with +/- 6 inches behind rear wheel?? Thanks for all the info.
bruce
pygpin ... many thanks. Does not really change the "looks" much ... an issue with my wife. I'm trying to talk her into a stretched Aqualu rig. ;) Thanks again.
I searched for wheelbase stretch and found posts detailing moving axles outwards ... but what I'm trying to get is an idea of is what a FJ40 looks like with a 10 to 15 "body " stretch ... with the increase betweeen the door and rear wheel well. Appreciate links to all pic's that might be out...
I know there is a thread here somewhere on body differences between 78 and 79 FJ40's ... I'm still searching. But I have a quick question ... were there any differences in the frames when the body changes (78 vs. 79) were made? or, are they interchangeable? Thanks.
Yes I did try a search ... soft top, rag top, convertible top ... came up with nada. Who makes soft tops for FJ40's ... anyone had a custom top made ... who or what company. Thanks.
