It sounds like your 80 is running properly. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread or not, but it's possible your gauge has been modified. The idea behind it seemed like a good one, but turned out to be more worrisome...

I really like that it has AC, disc brakes, a radio, and most importantly it passes smog in California.

I bid on overton's red 40 that was just on BaT, but it went for higher than I thought, especially after one layers in BaT fees. I'm keeping an eye on his site and he has helped a lot in my search.

I was told that the engine/air cleaner is not correct for a '78, is that true? Is this an import?
Good question. Ideally, I'm looking for a daily driver quality, restored 40. I won't likely be wheeling, maybe weekend camping trips.
I'm not completely against a project, but the wife would be.
The rear shackle had me questioning, along with maybe some holes in the passenger side floorboard...

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I've put ~5,000 trouble free miles on this nicely kept rig. This is my 2nd 80.
I've had to add a little oil here and there. I've done little things like add a hidden subwoofer, removed running boards, currently retrofitting some Depos for projectors, but...
