Been searching and still searching for a source for the pan head screws that hold the top of an Aisan carburetor together. Couldn’t find the perfect screw in McMaster-Carr’s inventory?
Size: M5x0.8x20
Thanks for any help!
Do all Asian 2 barrel carbs for the 2F have power valves? I’m noticing that some carbs do not have the vacuum port at the top front and some do? My minimal understanding is that it takes some manifold vacuum to keep the valve closed and negative at open throttle to activate it?
Just wanted to give this a little more exposure. FJ43 owners are frequently asking about hard tops

The first is an Asian USA carb. The question is, what is the function of these air/vacuum passages? Circled in red you can see that they pass through the boosters/nozzles to the exterior of the air horn. (The nozzle assembly has been removed)
The second is an Asian general market carb Circled...
The fan shroud on my 1997 has the symbol shown in the photo. I’m sure it represents the manufacturer. But usually Toyota has their stamp on everything?
I bring it up because I’m changing my fuel pump. After 24 years and 300K miles I thought it would be prudent, and easy to do.
I bought a Denso replacement pump. When I got to it I found the Denso to be shorter than OEM and would require me to rewire because the connector plug has different pins...
From the Overland FB page….
Any of you know anything about this?

There's no other way to say this. This travel plan is the worst defeat motorized recreation has suffered in decades. SUWA won. Moab is lost. Almost every major trail west of Moab is closed, including Day Canyon Point...
Just mulling it over, over morning coffee, if my O2 sensors need to be swapped out after 298,000 miles? I don’t have codes telling me that they are bad?
But do they become inefficient after so much time and mileage? Should they be changed out just for the heck of it?
It came up because I did a...
I had to replace my cats on my 1997 so I went with the Magna Flow one Cat easy bolt on. Assembly was no issue and running with one Cat isn’t bothering any of the engine management systems. I thought it to be an okay idea!
But, now after a few months I have noticed way more heat being produced...
Just wondering if it is just good PM to change out the Shifter Seat after 40 years on a H42 4spd ? No shifting issues but its a rubber part that is easy to get to.

not sure if this is strictly tech but…….i was wondering if anyone out there was saving money by buying the lower octane rated fuels and then adding in a booster to achieve the desired octane rating for a 1FZ-FE engine? 87 octane (RON 91) is spec in the FSM.
i did some searching and found...
Does anyone out there have an 95 + 80 Series that may be unmolested under the hood? I’m looking for ”the” spot that the front axle breather vent thing attaches to. My FSM does not show it?
Here is a photo from MUD but I don’t think this is the right spot?
Thanks

After replacing my u joints on the front drive shaft of my 1981 it is obvious that there is noticeable play in the splines. With DS bolted in, it looks like about 5mm of play when I push and pull on it at the slip joint. Is my only option a different drive shaft with tight splines? I don’t think...
Replaced my U-Joints the other day. What I notices was that the “ears” on the shafts were different thicknesses.
You can see, with the cups in the correct location, C-clips installed easily, that one is flush and the other is recessed due to the thickness of the material.

So, I want to replace my u joints on my 1981 40 series. I’ve read sh^t loads of threads here and been through the “google”.
Mr.Toyota doesn’t sell u joints any more but every LandCruiser vendor does Sell some after market brand. Some vendors display 2 different joints at two different prices...
