Quite a find....you have a knack for this!! That PTO shifter boot is the same part we got on the transfer shifter for the 3 speed floor shift 40/45s.

    They're still out there...

This was unearthed during the week - purchased from a farm clearance auction and then advertised more widely for 20k AUD and snapped up pretty quickly. I was too slow.... Believe it's heading to the US....

You may be waiting a while... By the 80's the winches of choice here in Aus were mostly aftermarket Thomas.

Best place to search for part numbers/parts fiche?

Install a VPN client on your phone or computer like IPVanish. Set your location to Russia or one of the 'stans and you'll see all the exploded diagrams. They're still there...just hidden from us liableous westerners.

    Leaking T-case speedi sleeves

Use a wipe of JB Weld or Liquid Steel in the groove before knocking the sleeve on.... otherwise, the sleeve just collapses into the groove in no time and you're back where you started.

Brakes 100% loss on huge hill today.

This happened to me shortly after I bought my current 80 and I hadn't got it up to standard yet.... Just waited for it to cool. Bled them a little on the side of the road without adding to the M/C and continued on, happily. Flushed out the fluid some time later to ensure it was unlikely to...

Cross country trip in November...which would you do?

I agonised over this exact issue for months.... In the end, I threw a few $$$ at the 80 and completed a 12,000 k/m trip with my family through the most remote & isolated country in Australia (and therefore the world - excepting the poles?). I safely returned with an even greater love for my...
