    Whats a PHH?

That's what shop rags are for :D I did finally look in the tech FAQ, and found out alot about the PHH. Me thinks it's time I spend some time looking through the old threads and FAQ's, lots of good stuff there!

    Whats a PHH?

Thanks, that's a pretty tame description, I'm sure there are some more colorful terms for that hose ;) Did they put the oil filter in a less than desireable location like the 3.0 V-6 truck motor, or is it hopefully easier to get at?

    Whats a PHH?

Yes, I did use the search function, but while I see the TLA of PHH used many times, everyone seems to know what it is, so the device is never spelled out. I did figure out it is something in the cooling system/line, but what it is, I know not. The suspsense is killing me

    Maintanance FAQ's?

So I've got my mind made up to find my own 80 series w/ over 100k miles on it, where can I find some good info on what I'd need to change out for a fairly thorough overhaul, ie not just the factory recomended service, but items that have historically caused problems and should be changed out...

Thanks for the correction, I'd thought I'd read the 4.5 was a V-8.

I agree if I was solely looking for a dedicated vehicle for pulling the boat, a 3/4 ton w/ turbo diesel would be the rig, but I can't afford a dedicated vehicle for that task. I also don't think one would fit in the garage, and having a vehicle at room temp vs ambient in the winter up here is a...

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like if I bide my time, I should be able to find a 93-95 in the $7-8k range sans lockers, and a locked rig will be running $10-12. My boat isn't super heavy, but I'd agree the 4.5 8 would be my prefernce over the 4.0 6. Thanks!

I've been a fairly long time Toyota user, '93 3.0 4-runner, '94 3.0 xtra-cab 4X4 truck and a 2000 rav-4 (wifes car, don't laugh ;) ) Anyhow, I've been looking at my options for my truck to make it more suitable to towing my boat, but I keep coming up with it just doesn't have enough engine...
