Replacement Carb
I'm having a stutter - I've tried changing the fuel filter - adjusting the mixture/carb - ran some Sea Foam down it - plugs - wires - etc.
Still seem to get a stutter or bump/jump when I give it throttle.
I'm thinking new Carb - or have mine rebuilt.
Should I jump on one...
2011 Tundra - All blacked out ("Murdered" as the cool kids are calling it I guess).
36,000 Miles - Nothing special for options other than tow package.
My Father was in need of a new vehicle - so he bought our 2008 Tacoma with 32,000 on it. Sold it to him for 10k - he wasn't too excited...
Ok, like the title says - I'm having a few shifting issues since my transmission flush.
Flush was done by York's Toyota in Houlton, ME at 97,500 miles.
The issues are slight slipping - or not shifting exactly when it should (sometimes early, sometimes late).
No clunking or shuddering...
1978 FJ40
The Previous owner installed a Shackle reversal kit - it's always been a problem - drive line alignment (vibration), steering, ride, etc.
So begins my project -
Thanks to Vic at Land Cruiser Parts I was able to get all of the factory shackles and perches.
First thing's first - I...
The PO did a shackle reversal - looks like a Man-a-Fre kit.
I'm tired of fighting with vibration, steering issues, etc - I want to bring it back to stock height.
Problem I'm having is finding factory shackle hangers and perches.
Does anyone know where I can get the stuff to put...
CLOSED - No Longer available (at this time.) I drove the '78 around today and figure I will sell other stuff first. Hard to part with. Thank you for your interest.
:steer: After I drove it today... I realized how crazy I was to even think about selling them.
I don't...
So a couple months back I had a wheel speed sensor go after I played in the snow.
$250.00 bucks or so - and it was replaced and everything was just fine.
Today, I went to grab lunch for the Trading Post - and as I pulled back into the driveway - all those darn lights came back on...
Since I got my '78 FJ40 I seem to have a little dead spot in the steering wheel. I'll try to explain.
When going down the road - say the wheel is a little to the right, and you have "pressure" or resistance - the vehicle will start to walk to the right and I correct by moving steering to...
Man I want this, but there is no way I can swing it. :crybaby:
No affiliation - it's in New Brunswick Canada.

Enjoy.
My clutch has always been high on the pedal - I swapped engines recently, looked at the clutch and it looked good, so I put it back in.
Now it is slipping. I can get it in gear easy enough, but it feels like it won't engage - my push-rod adjustment under the truck is adjusted all the way fwd...
So I bought my first FJ40 - I was a jeep man up until this point (I still have my 1946 CJ2a - so I guess I still am - a little).
It's a '78. Not knowing much about them, I should have done my research before buying it. It seemed to run great. Drove 4 hours to get it, threw an antique plate...
