I have the same guy leaving notes on my windshield every couple months, I can tell by the handwriting. For a while, I left one in the console and told my wife if it breaks down again, just call this number and take whatever he offers.
Fixed it! Bad corrosion on #3 contact on an M3 relay. (I think the charge relay, not sure, don't have a year specific diagram any more.)
[edit] Fixed temporarily. Next time I started it, back to old ways. This is killing my soul. Usually I can figure this stuff out easily.
Yeah, but I'll check again. It's something bad on that circuit. I still need to pull the cooling fan relay. Before it was 100% tied to the cooling fan sensor closing, and the heater and all gauge lights would go dark, so I thought the cooling fan circuit had a short in it. Now, they are both...
What have you found? If anyone has any requests, I can model the part and upload to grab cad or somewhere like that. No promises on lead time, many projects around the house.
I fried my fusible link, had it repaired. And fried the alternator and voltage regulator, replaced.
I have zero volts to the carb fuel solenoid with key on warm, and hit or miss when cold. Emissions controller looks good, no bad connections anyway. (took it apart and checked all the connector...
I did the same thing, and have the same problem. For a while, it would idle well (and heater fan works) until the carb blower fan sensor closed (when engine warmed up). Plus, that blower fan got ruined, so it's been yanked for now. I tried pulling that blower fan's relay, no change. Might be a...
Thanks everyone, yeah, feeling lucky about it. No question of driving it, I don't need moar oil slicks in the driveway. The pen is holding pretty well though, for moving it around the yard. My last trip, when it blew the plug, was about 1/4 mile back from lunch. I just had a shop fix a bunch of...
Thanks. I will search, now that I know what to search. Yeah, I came back to the parking spot after driving about a mile round trip earlier, and saw oil under the engine. Popped the hood, pretty obvious. I've been searching all kids of stuff about freeze plugs and oil passage, but never found...
See the ballpoint pen stuck in the head above the #5 sparkplug? The right (front of car) end of the pen is shoved into a perfectly smooth hole, and oil's splattering out of it. I was able to drive home by shoving the pen in there. Somehow it stuck.
I can't for the life of me figure out what was...
I put a 1500W forced circulation heater in mine, pumps coolant into the heater core. Heats up at 0F ambient to 140F coolant temps in about and hour or so. Draw back is the rear heater must be closed, with the main wide open. If you forget, it will not circulate.
I have warm air out of the...
Thanks for the excellent advice everyone. I've been looking at comps on Autotrader, CL in coastal cities, and CarGurus. I just have not found any 100% stock for under 20k anywhere, with everything working.
After looking at BAT, I can see that low miles and original help, but every one under 30k...
Needs:
Front end seals, full set.
Clutch pilot bearing.
Valve guides (?? light smoke for 1 sec at first start of the day).
Smog pump delete (will get the replacement pulley).
Carb smog whatever dizzy, dilly-dally from the guy in So Cal.
New straight pipe from manifold back.
A/C compressor...
Sure. That's the plan. Brief history: 175,000 miles. Originally from CA. No accidents, ever. I'm 3rd owner, Ursa is stock, except for the hack-a-thon smog delete (Just ripped out everything but the bare necessities). Bought her from a friend in 2012, the second owner, who used her from about...
Hey Greg, just got the rear hatch last week finally, excellent packing job, all in one piece, glass perfect, thanks! And thanks for being so willing to work with me and not give up when the first two times you packed it were too big. That PM thread got way too long, sorry.
I will be watching...
