Cleaning out some extra parts to help fund my FJ40 rebuild project. I purchased these from 'Mud a few years ago for my 2004 100 series that I no longer have. Full set and some clips. The painted stripe area is only fair, and there are a few scratches and dings on the plastic areas, but...
I have 'notes' from a cruiser guru that generally recommended keeping the valve seats and opening them up for larger stainless steel small block Chevy valves (1.5" and 1.84") along with new valve guides. Sounds like you are staying with stock valves, either way, I would definitely clean up the...
With stock joints, the goal is not to point the pinion at the transfer case. It is to make the pinion flange and transfer output flange parallel. Run it how you want, but you had it right the first time.
Yes a proportioning valve will be needed and a good quality brake line flare tool. Poser kit for me as well. He has been great to work with for several transactions.
I believe i’ve seen other examples of 33’s on stock suspension. Ok on easy roads, just not articulated off road. Your results will vary whether you are on 5.5” OE wheels or something wider with different offset. Look up “wngrog” builds as he has recently had good things to say about Dobinsons...
I'm looking for PS pump for 1986 Toyota pickup 4x4. Do you have a part number or specific model vehicle that this was supposed to be for so I can do some cross referencing? Thanks, Lance.
Assuming stock leafs, you have a minimum 2” lift over stock with your current setup. This should allow 33x10.5 tires with little drama. If you go 33x12.5 you will likely have some rubbing in the rear wheel wells when articulating off road, but should be ok on road. Trying for 35’s will be...
Generally speaking, aftermarket parts get their value from being more universal. Being universal means making compromises. Roll the dice where you can if you wish. If the OE part lasted 30 years...
Kenda has some newer Klever R/T's etc. and sizes (33x9.5's) that are maybe worth checking out as well. Never tried any of them, but I've heard good things.
Agreed. I would be afraid the homemade 'engineering' of the custom body lift would be putting the body in a less than ideal bind. Equalize the body lift across the board, or remove it completely.
I strongly recommend load range C. I run BFG KM3 33x10.5x15 load range C. I have to air down to at least ~12 psi to start getting some tire bulge for offroad use on my FJ40. I have some load range C 31x10.5x15's on a 1986 Toyota 4x4 mini truck and they can be run down to single digits and...
Check out Rockauto.com. I bought a bench seat cover for my '86 from there many years ago. Don't recall the brand, but it is a good fit and look. I'm not sure if the brand they offer now is the same or not. Worth looking into though.
