This was actually a Toyota reman part. But who did Toyota farm the reman out to? No idea. Anyways I have to take it to my local dealer to get a warranty replacement.
I am still not sure I understand all the physics of it. Basically it is pushing DC to the battery when running but when it is...
Ya I found this page which actually has some good info on testing an alternator diode. So gonna check that tomorrow. https://www.autozone.com/diy/alternator/can-an-alternator-drain-a-battery#:~:text=Contrary%20to%20its%20purpose%2C%20an,itself%20or%20connections%20to%20it.
So it appears that is the alternator connection. And being that I just put in the new alternator, what are the chances the alternator charges my battery but then drains it when sitting?
Ok so I figured out it pulls 550 milliamps key off. If I pull the Dome light fuse it drops to 450 milliamps. Nothing else affects it except this connection (see attached photo. Once I disconnect this wire it drops to zero. So next question what does this wire do? BTW mine looks super suspect...
So is 200u micro or milli amps? I read the 200u was microamps which I thought was super low. If it is milliamps then I can start pulling fuses. I am guessing the dome light or radio.
So I have been having this battery drain which I originally thought was because of an old battery. After replacing that with a new one I realized I was only getting 13.3v at the battery when charging, so I replaced with a new Alternator. I now get 14v at the battery and about 14.4 direct from...
Pulled the nut, yoke and seal. This washer sits on top of the bearings. Each of the tabs is twisted. Is that right? Am I ok just to install the new seal or do I need a new washer here as well?
I am at around 180k miles now. I put in a new filter and refilled with TOYOTA Genuine Lexus ATF Type T-IV Automatic Transmission Fluid. I am good with it being manual. I have heard good things about the swap. I am not sure I am capable of doing a swap myself though, which means I need a shop...
I am not sure it wasnt clutch material. What would be other indicators that it was besides the clogged up transmission filter?
And what does that mean is going on with the transmission if it is?
Follow-up on this. My transmission was whining so I pulled the pan and the filter was clogged with non-metalic debris. Looked like dirt wetted by fluid. Once I finished putting in a new filter and sealing everything up I noticed a hose that runs from the top of the filler tube to the...
So after looking at the FSM I believe this is the breather plug for the transmission. Still not sure exactly where it connects but looks like on top of the transmission housing somewhere.

About 3 inches below the top of the metal filler pipe is a rubber hose that comes off the pipe. This hose ends with a 90 degree plastic fitting. What is this and where does it attach? My plastic fitting looks cracked and the hose was just hanging next to the transmission housing. I cant seem to...
The one from Touge Nation were fine as far as bubbles on installation. I had almost zero following their instructions. My problem with them was trimming them to meet the door gaps. They are thick, so that is probably where the no bubble issue comes from, but because of that thickness you...
