MUDShip  NorCal to SoCal and back Mar 22-42

How’s it going Mudders! Headed to SoCal third weekend of March towing my Mazda RX-7 to a shop but in doing so it looks like I’ll be doing a little bit of Mud-Shipping a bumper on the way down for @hdj8081 and some wheels coming up for @benroberds. Cargo Space 100 vs 200

Came here because I’m only now realizing I need more space. Looking at 200s for a family friendly standpoint as opposed to being staunch on having a front solid axle. Pretty sure I have not gone anywhere in my 80 a 100 or 200 couldn’t have gone.

    SOLD  Linda, CA

Free 80 series wheels and tires! Tires are old but hold pressure. Probably just fine if you’re rolling around the shop. Has a spare wheel and tire too. Oddly the tires really aren’t that cracked?

    What would you do?

Well, after paying Bay Area prices for work this and 6k in the hole I got the truck back after a month and a half. No more oil consumption and the truck feels ever so slightly peppier… The day they finished the work is the day I bought a used 2006 Tundra. I couldn’t go much longer with out a...

    Poor fuel consumption FZJ80

Everyone with a cruiser should be used to poor mileage. Unless you’re getting something abysmal like 4-6 mpg, I’d say everything checks out.

Whoa! Change that heater control valve quickly. Never mind, upon further inspection it looks like it was done.

    New Lift build out help

A lift I would say is about half…address the pan hard rods, if you go above 3” get the Delta front radius arms. Don’t forget a D.C. driveshaft…maybe some lower rear control arms but not necessary. Upgrade the rear sway bar with a super pro if possible and some adjustable end links while you’re...

    New Lift build out help

Did both. Adjustable front pan hard rod and Delta rear bracket. I didn’t drive long enough on the lift with out them to notice the difference, primarily because the truck felt like driving a shopping cart with out enough caster. I only get a bit of rear end wiggle when the suspension loads up on...
