Scanned it last night and and got a P2442 P code. Initially it sounds like something related to the Air Switching Valve (ASV) possibly sticking open. That may indicate why your problem was a one and done. My problem still exists and the truck is running about 1/2 power. Anyone with experience on...
This morning I took off down the road and noticed my check engine light and traction control light came on along with a flashing low 4 light. It's definitely not in four wheel drive. The truck didn't seam to want to down shift and seamed a little sluggish. Has anyone experienced these same...
I have a rusty FJ60 tub on a rotten frame that is going to the scrap yard in a week or two. The only thing that is any good is the roof and possibly some of the pillars and maybe the fenders if you are a good body man. No doors. Whats there is rusty but straight. I'm in southeast PA (19362)...
Yes, that's the header. I like to put as much of the engines together before dropping them end so I don't have to bend over the fender to finish of accessories. Can I install the header before dropping in the engine? It would make things easier if it's not too much of fight dropping the motor...
I obtained enough parts to put together an FJ60 using a 2f with headers. Does anyone have an opinion on installing the engine with or without the headers? They are the two piece design with "y" pipe. It seams to me that the intake and header should be installed at the same time because of the...
Can anyone tell me, when installing the weber carb, I'm assuming the spacer under the heat-shield (fiber material) and heat-shield are retained? Additionally, is the PCV valve connected to the EGR block off plate? I looked at numerous threads and most say to the fitting on the back of the...
That was my original plan but the t-pipe is rotted beyond repair. Can I still go from the back of the water neck or should I look for the seemingly difficult to find t-pipe?
I just eliminated my oil cooler (temp stabilizer) and would like to reroute the heater hoses on my 84' FJ60. Does any one know if I can run one hose from the fire wall (heater core) to the fitting on the back of the head and the other to the outlet on the water neck above the bypass hose?
Thanks!
Welcome to the addiction. One cruiser never seems to be enough. I saw you said you were going to stop at sears and pick up a tool set. Save the money! Buy a 10, 12, 14 and 17 millimeter wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. That along with a rock and stick will let you do just about anything.
I found one on Rock Auto for a '75. The picture shows the casting provision for the outlet tube but it isn't drilled. I'll order it today and see if it is true to the picture. Someone here on the site recommended that year, so that is how I found it. Thanks for the help!
I searched a few old threads and couldn't find anything definitive. My oil cooler is rotten and I would like to bypass it. The "T" pipe in between the two lower radiator hoses is rotten as well. I would like to put on the '75 style water pump with no coolant hose outlet and replace the lower...
I have a few misc. fj40 and 62 parts I'm in a hurry to get rid of. I don't have time to pack and ship but if anyone lives in S.E. PA, I am selling the parts really cheep. (Example0 Fj40 front and rear diff, $50.00 ea,
F core engine, turns over but never heard it tun, $100, 3 spd with top shift...
