If I were to import an FJ40 from South America, were they run with leaded fuel, can it be run on unleaded, do I need to do any mods to the engine/exhaust system?
There was a site that had all the LC scpes about engines, transmissions, production years, what transmission was mated to what engine, etc. It was very complete.
I bookmarked it, but now I can't find it, I'm not sure if it was www.birfield.com, but this one says it's under construction...
Unfortunately, the only 7 series you can legally get in the USA are the BJ-70s sold in Canada in the mid 80s. You'll occasionally find them for sale in Canada, but you have to check very well if they are in good shape, too much snow and salt...
There are some beefed up legally titled un the...
I post here because this is a Land Cruiser forum, and after owning an FJ-70 for 10 years I feel more than qualified to post in this forum.
Since FJ Golfr stated that he's new to FWD and was asking for help I advised him on what I think will work better for his situation.
Actually, I don't...
But when you compare both equally equipped (lockers, etc), add the markup dealers are charging because of "limited availability" to the FJC and subtract some $2500 discount to the Xterra that you can get right now, you get the "real" price you'll be paying for either one, you'll see what I'm...
If you're planning on getting into outdoor activities with your two kids (and probably with some of their friends) you'd be much better off with an xterra Offroad since IT HAS FOUR DOORS, skid plates, rear locker and traction control which should be more than enough for the offrad you'll be...
So the truck they report as "capable" on the tests is actually "more" capable than the one you'll find on showrooms?
That's deceiving advertising to me... :flipoff2:
Altough gear ratio went from 4.6/4.9 to 3.7, 05 Xterras have a lower crawl ratio, 42.3 vs 33.5 because of their much lower 1st gear (4.4 vs. 3.6) and low range (2.6 vs. 2) and a much better highway ratio 2.8 vs 3.8.
That makes 05s more capable than 04s to me (plus rear locker)
