    There was a site that had all the LC scpes about engines, transmissions, production years, what transmission was mated to what engine, etc. It was very complete. I bookmarked it, but now I can't find it, I'm not sure if it was www.birfield.com, but this one says it's under construction...

    Altough gear ratio went from 4.6/4.9 to 3.7, 05 Xterras have a lower crawl ratio, 42.3 vs 33.5 because of their much lower 1st gear (4.4 vs. 3.6) and low range (2.6 vs. 2) and a much better highway ratio 2.8 vs 3.8. That makes 05s more capable than 04s to me (plus rear locker)
