Clutch slips after running for a while

Jeepgod- just had a similar experience as yours- all I did was unbolt the slave cylinder, bleed it and rebolt it- the problem went away. Actually going back, I would have just tried bleeding it first without removing it.

    Gauge location ideas (??)

I pulled the center heater vents and put mine in their place. I did that with Autometer oil/water gauges and I think it looks pretty good plus no cutting up/ drilling the dashboard. I don't have any pictures and wont be around the car for awhile, but I stole the idea from someone on mud who had...

    is it the tranny?

maggdog, did you ever find out what the problem was? Mine just started doing almost exactly what you described- I have rebuilt the slave cylinder and master cylinder- but still no go. Sometimes if I start it in 2nd or 3rd gear, I can get it to shift- but only if I dont depress my clutch all the...

H55 fifth gear wont engage and jumping

So the other day I was out for a drive and noticed once or twice that when I engaged fifth gear it would jump out. We stopped for lunch and on the drive home the problem got steadily worse- instead of jumping out of gear, it would refuse to engage at all above speeds of about 80 KMH. Now fifth...

    spring height

I rearched my springs and added a leaf and then one of the rear drivers side springs broke as did th e main passenger side on the front! Ended up buying a complete set of locally made springs and now I have the same problem you do- front sits at stock height, the rear is just under two inches...

    How hot is a 2H

I have a mechanical gauge and my coolant runs between 140-170 degrees. Only time it got any hotter was when I had one of the hoses burst. When I'm pushing the car up a long steep hill, I've seen it get close to 180- but thats rare.

    "A" pillar cracked

So after a couple thousand KM's on very rough roads I developed a wierd rattling noise from my passenger side dashboard. Turned out to be the A Pillar had developed a crack from the lip of the windscreen (for the gasket) to the bottom of the A pillar (on the outside). I have yet to pull the...

Front Birfield side axle sheered in two, any idea what would have caused this?

I saw something like that years ago on a land rover in namibia. I hitched a ride with a couple of South Africans driving from South Africa to London. We were driving along down the road when the car just stopped accelerating. We got out and looked, couldn't figure out what it was but thought it...

    new/after market gauges...

Lots of people have put in after marketgauges. I bought Autometer- oil pressure and H2o Temp and put them in the two center air vents. The other day the top rad hose split on my car and I was able to realize within a minute at most as the temp gauge was flucuating real time and accurately. I'm...

    Offroad Recovery closes...

I ordered a snatch strap from them two months ago and had it sent to a friends house in the states, it hadn't arrived before they returned to Kenya and according to her parents it still hasn't arrived. The bummer is that I paid for it and they charged my account- does anyone have any good...

    BJ60 wiring into FJ62 harness

It will be possible, but you will end up having to integrate all the Diesel only stuff as you mentioned. The Glow Plugs are not a big deal- just the relay and power in/out to it. The EDIC might be a bit more work as there are quite a few wires running to different sensors etc... I think the...

    Inside Fuel Storage

Has anyone ever made a long range tank that sits on the floor of thier cargo area (I have a 60) with a tap that runs into the original fuel gauge sneder unit? I've been trying to think of a way to do this. Anyone have any ideas on the pros and cons? John

Brakes go "thunk" - What gives?

Rigger, I think it's just the lack of AR clip. The same thing started happening on mine and when I looked at calipers, I noticed the AR clip was missing. I retorqued the caliper bolts and it's still there. John

    Front Axle Bearings!!!

So, the steering on my truck has been feeling a bit rough lately, I thought it might be worn tie-rod ends or steering linkage. Well the other day I noticed that the drivers side hub was starting to leak oil/grease- it pissed me off because I just had the bearings repacked and the inner oil...

Just posted ARB heeadlight loom - quick Q about power

I thought you wanted to take the power straight from the battery, so that your headlights work even when the engine is not running. When I upgraded mine, I ran the power through a fuse block with direct power from the batt.

Aftermarket Oil Pressure and Water Temp. Gauges

I installed Autometer's Pro Comp series in mine. The Temp gauge is 140-280?, but the temp shouldn't really ever get above something like 220. My oil pressure gauge is from 0-100 PSI which is fine. Not sure where you are, but on cold morning's (I live in Kenya, so that's relative) before the...

Who has removed their rear stabilizer?

I bought a new set of locally manufactured rear springs that have a bracket on them to reduce the chance of side to side play. The problem is that the bracket rubs against the passenger side stabilizer bar/arm joint. I've removed the stabilizer for a temporary fix and haven't noticed any real...
