I'm finally getting around to rebuilding my front passenger hub after tearing it apart on the trail back in February. I got it all torn apart and when I went to take the axel out of the housing the birfield came right out. I thought that was strange. Come to find out there was not snap ring on...
Hey guys, I had a bad day up on Bald yesterday that lead to me having to be rescued and leaving my rig behind with some sheared knuckle studs. I just ordered a new stud kit from Joey with rushed shipping. I'm hoping to go back up on Saturday 2/26 to rescue the rig. If anyone is down to see the...
So after nearly a decade of off-roading in Land Cruisers, I've finally had a catastrophic break on the trail. I got bogged down in some snow and while trying to winch myself out, I sheared off all of the knuckle studs on the passenger side. Thank goodness I was able to hike a little ways and...
If anyone has any 80 related 3d printer files they’d be willing to share I’d be happy to see what you got. My buddy has a 3d printer and I wanna see if he can print me some stuff. He usually just makes cookie cutters for his wife’s cookie business. I’d really like to make some blank off panels...
So I thought out a 3-axis coupler idea today, and wanted to run it by some other people before I committed to buying all the stuff for it. It goes like this from the truck to the trailer:
1. Clevis pin hitch in its standard orientation. This provides left and right movement.
2. A 5 inch long 2...
So I finally found an M116. Been looking for a year or so now. Got this for a price I’m happy with. Now the fun begins. The plan is to take the tent off the rig and get it on the trailer. This will be a build thread. Though I’m not doing a lot. I think the first important thing is putting a Lock...
A friend and I are looking at building some new rear LCA’s. Before I order metal, does anyone happen to know the OD of the bushings? I want to make sure I get the right size tubing.
I know I know, another cooling thread, but I’m just looking for a little guidance as I’ve already read most of the other threads, and still don’t know what to do next. First off, a little back ground. 1997 with a little over 166,000 on the clock. Head gasket was replaced by a previous owner...
Used one of the pair of shafts I ordered. It’s amazon special. $60.

This is out of my original 1996 80 rear. It’s been sitting on my shelf for far too long. It’s a complete carrier with 4.10 ring and pinion. $50. Will ship at your cost.
I need to get these off my shelf. $200. Will ship on your dime. Local to Fresno area. Can meet up nearby if you want. I’d prefer to keep them together.
I've searched and couldn't find much. I was wondering if anyone here has seen or made a dash bar. My buddy has one from Vector Offroad in his jeep and it's a really nice addition. It's made of 1 inch tube so it accepts all of those bar accessories like phone mounts and such. If any of you...
My land cruiser badging was hanging on by a thread so I decided to pull it off before it broke off. Is anyone making anything to go here? I still have my original, but if anyone has anything different I’d be interested to see it.
Okay, so a while ago I took the air ride out and put springs in. While doing that I noticed my rear brakes needed to be replaced. So while changing the brakes I noticed the rotor was scored really badly on the inside of the passenger side.
I decided to swap rotors and brakes at the same time...
I’m swapping out the front axles. Got everything apart. Spun the front hub. Have a listen and tell me if I should wrap it up and order a new front hub.
So I took my GX in for an oil change and inspection today at Toyota. They’ve recommended several maintenance items. But their labor is insane. I’m sure I can do a lot of this myself.
Front Struts (said they were leaking) $1065
Timing Belt (it’s never been changed and I’m at 145K I would do...
Looking at doing my lift in the next month or so, finally.
Rig is currently on 285’s with plans to go 35’s in the future. I’m around 3100 pounds on the front axle and 2600 on the rear in street mode, a bit heavier in camping mode. I plan to add a 4x4 labs bumper sometime this year with tire...
i have some serious windshield/hood glare with my roof rack mounted 40” spot/flood LED. It’s practically unusable. The glare on the white hood is bad, but it seems to catch the glass in a way that makes it glow. I have an old school INTI rack. I was thinking about ditching the spot/flood LED and...
