Folks,
In my day car I have automatic lights, so I never need to remember to turn them on or off.
In my BJ, I like to drive with the lights on to increase visibility given my drum brakes. However I sometimes forgot to turn them off resulting in my batteries running low.
Has anyone installed a...
the pipe that enters the tub is a breather pipe and only goes there to hold the pipe. The fumes then enter the channel in the tub.
It doesn't lead anywhere, just terminates about 2" inside the channel
Folks,
I've just refitted all new brakes (pipes, master cylinder, slave cylinders, shoes etc) to my old landcruiser.
It's got drums all round.
I've adjusted all adjusters out until the wheels were just rubbing and then took it for an extended test drive to bed them in. I jammed on a...
Folks,
I completed the turbo installation and used 15w-40 engine oil. So far so good.
I then fired her up to discover it was pumping out dirty smoke. I removed the Banjo bolt, welded up both restriction holes and drilled a new one ~1.5mm in diameter.
I reinstalled everything and...

Folks,
I think I found the source of my smoky engine.
I first checked to see if the engine was smoky in my 'pre restoration video' and remembered/discovered that it wasn't! Great start :)
I then suspected the spoke was due to my turbo modification, so I did some research online. It...
Update
As promised, I investigated the handbrake failure earlier today.
Lost marbles suggested I investigate what happened to the backing plate mounting bolts. Well as it turns out, they all sheared off!
I remove the rear drive shalf (PITA!) and then removed the handbrake cover...
Folks,
Is it possible to just swap injectors between two different B engines without any special tools / skill etc?
The reason I ask is I have a smoky B engine as described above. I have another clean running B engine on my doner truck and wanted to trial swapping the injectors to see if they...
Folks,
I just brought my truck for it's first extended drive today after it's restoration. After about 5 minutes I heard a bang below the handbrake followed by a clicking noise. It seems I snapped the handbrake cable connection at the transfer handbrake assembly.
On inspection, it seems that...

While we're on the topic of clutch slave cylinders. ...
