2008 GX470 TPMS disable
I pulled the red box under the glovebox apart and connected the blue & green/red wires inside the control module. I opted to not solder but just “clamp” the two wires together with solid wire.
Let me see:
-You could easily have this bumper and a spare tire in the OEM location. Just depends on the tire size, but the OEM hitch takes up more room than the bumper.
-You COULD bolt the rear plate to the frame's cross bar but I see no reason for it. This bumper bolt to the frame in more...
Came here just to see your homemade bed tray and what a great build thread! I gotta say I liked the blue better. It's all super clean though. I'm impressed
Why do you need to replace the transmission on your '09? What are the problems? I have an '08 and the transmission is my least favorite part of the truck. I'd love to swap out for the 460's transmission.
I'm just catching up on your progress. I recently installed DT long tube headers on my '08. I pulled all the studs out, cleaned them up and reinstalled them after the header was in place using a "star" socket. I put the OEM nuts on and torqued to spec. It was a huge pain in the butt.
Anyone that has an 06-09ish, Pearl White GX470 know our paint is s***ty. To help cover up most of my horribly chipped hood, give me a good sticking plane for the solar panel and add style(maybe), I opted to wrap the center sections in 3M matte black vinyl. It came out pretty good if you don't...
I'll post up in my build thread when it's done. We don't have KDSS and will run the same sway in the back. It just takes different sway bar mounts on the axle side.
Every locking system has it's pros and cons. For me, having an e-locker fail in the LOCKED position requiring a late night of trail wrenching to be able to safely drive home on pavement (from Moab to Seattle) is a big con. It had to be manually unlocked and thankfully we had cell service to find...
IMO a higher amp alternator isn't for faster charging of bigger batteries, it's for powering all the electronics while the motor is on.
Have you ever seen someone rev the engine up while winching? this is because the alternator isn't making enough amperage at idle to run the winch well. Now...
You have some choices to make when it comes to a self supported awning.
Your two main options are a "180" or a "270".
Just to name a few, look up these companies/awnings:
Darche - Eclipse 180 & 270
Alucab - Shadow 270
Overland Vehicle Systems - Nomadic 180 & 270
The Bush Company - 180 & 270...
Thanks for digging this thread up.
Yes, I have everything working perfectly now. It was simple and stupid. The KC Cyclone lights are little doughnut shapes and you mount them with a single bolt through the middle. They have red(+) and black(-) wires coming off them but I didn't realize the...
Sounds like whatever fuse you tapped in to is a constant power instead of a ignition power. Get your volt meter out and double check the fuses aren't hot without the key in.
We have Wheeler bumpstops front and rear. I made an inch spacer in the rear to lower the bumpstop. No shim or spacer on the rear shocks. Haven't had any problems.
