Someone from Ironman posted on here that those recovery points you see on the IM website are not available in the US because they are not compatible with KDSS suspensions, which all US trucks have.
It's definitely more firm than stock, but I wouldn't say it was harsh.
Interesting that your OME heavy springs give you the same height with a winch and bull bar. I would have thought you would be higher on that setup. Is the cable on your winch steel or dynema?
There's another thread in...
Fronts are set at 4th Perch. I'm debating whether to pull the front strut assembly and move them to the 5th perch. It obviously has rake at the current setup, but I'm sure it will level out with a load in the rear. I'm hesitant because I certainly don't want reverse rake under load.
For those who are curious how this setup handles a front bumper, I installed an ARB Summit bumper on my truck. No winch at this point. I was expecting the front to drop, but so far I've only seen a slight drop in the left front of about .15" from the settled height (the front dropped .25" after...
I installed an ARB Summit Bumper. It took me about 15 hours over two days, and I'm still not 100% finished. But, I took my time and tried to make sure everything was just right. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Look closely at Rough Country and compare it to the winches from ZeSuper (Amazon), Ironman, Harbor Freight Badlands, etc. It too appears to be from that same manufacturer.
I'm fairly certain this is the same basic winch that has been rebranded with slight cosmetic changes by many different Australian suppliers, including Ironman, Ridge Ryder, Carbon, and Runva. If you look closely at the electrical connections and basic design, they all appear to be essentially...
I ordered the Premium bumper for the 16+ but ended up cancelling the order when I learned of the fitment issues OP describes and the fact that you cannot install rated recovery points to the front. Unfortunately, the bumper had already been shipped, so I will have to eat the shipping costs...
Man, I would love to make this trip but I've got plans for Saturday. I've been wanting to hit HF for years now.
Hit me up if you're looking for company on future trips around the state.
200 LC owner here, but today I was looking at old pics and came across this one I took of this FJ almost 6 years ago on Black Bear Pass near Telluride. This was July 2015. I was riding my mountain bike there at the time and was impressed with how steep and gnarly this trail was. From this pic...
I'm on the 4th perch and was able to align it within specs no problem on OEM UCAs. Still, as many have pointed out in this forum, just because you are able to align within specs does not mean that you have optimal alignment, so upgraded UCAs are never a bad idea.
