Kind of a long shot, but is anyone traveling from Boone to Newport News (or anywhere close on either end) in the near future with space for a 4 speed transmission and split case?
@deadlew
I have a bad habit of buying parts and asking questions later. Now it’s time to clean the garage out a bit. Located near Boone, NC
Split case and transmission from a very early FJ60 (1980 - maybe 1981?). This case will not work with the later h42s or h55s. I think it’s similar to what was in...
Does anyone have a guess what’s causing this noise? It’s an ‘87 60. I’ve been into the transfer case twice (3 times if you count the initial rebuild attempt) trying to figure out what the problem is and have nothing to show for it except sweat, tears, and shame.
The noise is loudest at around...
I’m trying to diagnose a weird sound my 60 is making. Drivetrain is completely stock. The noise doesn’t change at different speeds. When driving down the road, it’s most noticeable in 4th gear at 45-50 mph when either barely on or just off the accelerator. It’s kind of a high pitched...
This came with my 60 when I bought it. Looks to be a Wilderness rack with NRS mounts. It's in good shape, but needs a coat of paint. The mount location can adjust width-wise, so it might fit other models with rain gutters. Located near Boone, NC. No shipping. $250 obo
This rack came with my 60 when I bought it. I'd like to keep it, but I need funding for other parts more than I need the rack. Based on some searching, it looks to be a Wilderness rack with NRS mounts. It's in good shape, but needs a coat of paint. The mount location can adjust width-wise...
Leaving NW North Carolina Saturday, 11/19. Returning Sunday, 11/20. Route is 77 to 26 to 95. 8' pick-up bed will be empty on the way down, bed plus some trailer space open on the way back. Just looking to offset some fuel costs.
SOLD
I need to get rid of these. I believe they're from an early 70s model. Pics tell the story. $30. No shipping, but I may be able to meet up somewhere convenient for both of us.
I'm looking for the bell cranks that attach to the back side of the rear brakes on a 60. These are the levers that connect to the e-brake cable and activate the brake shoes when the cable is pulled. Anybody have any that aren't frozen up and/or broken (like mine were)?
Bunch o' 40 Parts - More Parts Added!
I'm getting tired of looking at this stuff. I'm getting out of the Cruiser scene for awhile, so I don't need any of it. Make an offer.
Most parts are from early 70s (pre 74) FJ40s. All prices obo plus shipping from 65401. I have pics of everything...
I just got my '73 40 a few months ago, and finally have it ready for the road.
It has a 3F motor in it, with an Offenhauser intake and Holley 4 barrel. If I goose the throttle pretty good, the engine will bog. It's more pronounced when it's under load, but even when it's idling and I tug...
