I've been offered a set of SOR springs a neighbor removed from his 76 because he said they were too stiff.
What are your opinions on the SOR springs? I currently have stock with add a leafs (sort of stiff in their own right)
On the heater fan housing, I have about a 1/2" gap to the side cowl. Is there a foam or felt gasket for this? My heater sucks in all the underhood heat and smells
I don't know what these are going for. They are asking 9K.
I know prices are dropping cause of gas. There is a carfax shows bought in AZ, was then in CT, and WA
150K miles, good tires, lockers F&R (they don't know what they are)
What are the things to look for/at? Any problem area's...
I was looking on my parts manual at battery trays. The hold downs are busted on mine, and it is rusty/pealing.
It shows 2 avail: (prices from 1sttoyotaparts.com)
74403-60050 (fits N70Z battery) for 39.23
74403-60011 (fits N50 battery) for 31.43

Doing the hi steer on my son's PU, and need to set up the shims for the front axle.
Anyone have one near Seattle for rent or borrow? It was not set up right before, so counting shims isn't going to work.
The left liftgate strut has not been on my 40 since I bought it 28 years ago. I'm finally getting tired of getting thumped in the head. Don't have as much padding on my top as I used to.
OR, any part #'s to look for to convert to gas charged struts?
I just got new rear wheel cylinders for my cruiser. The 20 year old NAPA "lifetime" cylinders started leaking. Since the 71 cylinder is not avail anymore from them, they subbed a set for a 78 (I have front disks now anyway, so close match). I just need to do some plumbing.
Looking at the...
Guy I work with saw 3 cruisers for sale. 2 were 82's and 1 79. All had OE diesels. He lost interest when he saw $15K on the first 82.
What are these worth? He said average condition.
I pulled my worn out sag 3 1/4 turn box and installed a rebuilt 4 1/4 turn box.
I set the box to middle, re-installed my "unknown" pitman arm (5 3/4"). The knuckles don't touch the steer stops (about 1/8" gap). What flat, or 1" drop arm is about 6 1/2 to 7" long?
Speed reading the 250...
I recently installed a (used) lock-right into my 71 FJ40. After the install, I noticed the rear eng would "push" out to one side when I accelerate, and pull back when I coast. Felt like the spring bushings were shot. Bought new bushings. Old ones didn't look bad.
It was doing it so bad...
I "harvested" the bezel from my 76, and found rubber spacers under the bezel (the 4 screws pass through them). Never seen em on other rigs, but obviously can't tell from the outside.
Was this something the PO put in, or were they stock?
I have the front housing, hubs, spindles, drum brake backers with shoes and cylinders.
No axles or diff. I might still have the coarse birfs...gotta look

I have the top glass piece for the 71 cruiser. The gutter is rusted, but the glass is OK. I just can't scrap it if some else can use it. This is top piece only, no sides or doors. The headliner is gone.
I replaced it with one with a good gutter.

To finish the assy of the TC to the trans, I need to have the torque spec for the shaft. Can anyone post up the complete instruction sheet, or email a copy? I would like to make sure the previous project owner did it right.
