I'm doing the knuckles and brakes before shipping off my recently sold 60. Does anyone have a tab washer for a 60 front axle? It's the thick washer that goes between the outer wheel bearing and the adjustment nuts. Disassembly has revealed that the one for the driver side is MIA... The...
Hi all,
I hope it's OK to cross post from Bring a Trailer, mods please slap me if not. I've gotten seriously back into motorcycling, and am selling Tractor. Hard choice, but I can't justify leaving him parked in the driveway.
1984 FJ60
Below is a short accounting of what the truck is...
My freshly refurb'd Norcold MRFT60, now sporting more-or-less-probably-less FJ60 interior brown. A whopping $100 on CL, and it works perfect. Still need to put the carry handles back on, the media blaster blew a hose so I need to (GASP) hand sand them and put a coat of paint on them, then wrap...
I tried to start a conversation with FJ40Jim to ask a question, and the forum tells me "You can't start a conversation with FJ40Jim".
I'm pretty sure Jim isn't mad at me, so I'm guessing either he has PM turned off or I have some glitch.
Thanks
Tony
I need a large cap FJ60 distributor, with a nice straight, free spinning shaft. Because I'm a ham-fisted cretin, and bent the perfect one I had... :bang:
Shipping to commercial address in zip 97058.
Thanks
Last Sunday, I was doing some long-overdue maintenance and noticed that the underside of the top radiator hose was abraded like it had been hitting the fan. That seemed odd, since it has a good inch or more of clearance. Then I started the engine, and in about 2 minutes the upper hose was...
Reaching out to Portland/Vancouver cruiserheads -- I put a Saginaw PS pump on my FJ60. Although the pump I bought claimed to have metric thread on the pressure fitting, not so. No big deal, I bought a new pressure hose (to replace the original that was still on the truck), and I found an SAE...
My OEM Toyota alternator has been making noise and giving inconsistent output, and finally died, so I installed a GM 105 amp alternator (application was 1995 Buick Regal, has 180 degree mount ears). Install was easy, I went q&d and cut the alternator to fit the Toyota mount. I bought a pigtail...
Anyone have knowledge about this carb?
An intake with a Rochester sitting on a MAF adapter has come into my possession. My truck has a Weber 32/26 which works well, but I long for a TrollHole non-smog Aisin, because I suspect it will be better than the little Italian.
Is the Rochester worth...

I have a good condition FJ62 dash grab handle in grey. I'd like to trade for a brown one in similar condition.
I'm in the PNW, Columbia gorge area.
Thanks!
Hey all,
I'm working on th steering on a '79 40.
I am checking the adjustment on the steering box. The center screw is turned in so far, the lock nut only has about 3 threads to grab.
This seems like a problem... Thoughts?
The steering is somewhat loose, the wheel moves more than the 2"...
I swapped to something that I like better. In good condition.
Driver side has a small tear in the vinyl on the outside, and needs a scrub.
Passenger seat has no rear mounts -- they were cut off to use for my replacement seats.
Sliders, recliners work perfectly, plastic covers are good.
Been fishin' for alloys in 16" -- these MT's look like a winner, 3.625" backspacing should work without spacers. Now, will the center bore be big enough?! :hillbilly:
EDIT: MT's fitment guide lists this wheel as a fit for the FJ6x, so problem solved...
I decided it was time for some auxiliary lights, but I wanted something unique.
I have had these vintage Cibie H1's in various BMW's over the years, and I thought it might be fun to do something similar to the "big & little" setup used on 80's BMW sedans, with a 7" H4's and 5.25" H1's.

Sh*tty phone pic. From a Land Rover Discovery II. Power, heat, leather faces. Fit was easy, price was better -- free! Did the driver today, will do passenger next weekend.
Search has failed me, so I call on the collective wisdom. I have a Downey V8 bell housing, and I'm curious what it will fit.
Obviously it fits a SBC, that's what it came off of and you can see the SBC pattern in the grunge. But, there are many other bolt holes. As a reference, the closer...
