I know some guys on here ship with fastenal, I couldn’t get the online quote to work kept getting an error message. I contacted greyhound got a quote for right around $120. They said that is 7 day shipping, but with items this long they say it can take up to 13 days more...I called rocky road...
Don’t have any plans on heading that way, but I would be open to meeting you somewhere off I-84, or discuss some other shipping options if that would help.
I have a set of 80 series rocky road outfitter sliders for sale. Had them on my 1996 fzj80, bought them about 7 years ago. They fit nice and tight, but opted to go the metal tech route, they are local for me and I wanted a bigger kick out. They retail for $639, I am looking for $300. They are...
I have a 80 series and the backing on my glass broke, and looking for a replacement. I don't care what color the housing is as long as the mirror and backing are intact. It would be shipped to 97116. Thanks for the help,
I took an overlanding/rubicon trip with my buddy in July who has a nice ARB fridge freezer. I always thought it was ridiculous to spend that kind of money on something on an offroad fridge, but after having beer so cold that if you drink it too fast will freeze, ice cold water on the trail (you...
I wasn't hurting for lighting with my 80, but I got a deal I couldn't pass up on a new in box Engo 50'' LED light bar. I have short roof rack on my cruiser, and was planning on finding some tower mounts to mount them on the drip rails separate from the rack closer to the top of the windshield...
I am running the Radflo 2.0 remote res with a J lift and 2" spacer up front and absolutely love them. The ride is exceptional, and the shocks are super high quality. I live close to Metaltech and Mark has the radflo's available specifically for the 80 with the 4'' lift...
Just food for thought, the 6.2l has a turbo kit available from Banks Power that is claiming +60 hp/+115 lb-ft. Its about 2k but makes gives it some good torque, but comes as a complete kit.
I have the small stinger version. I have punished that thing, and it took it all. I recently relocated my winch controller and mounted a 20"" rigid LED light bar just below the upper hoop. Fits perfect and super protected, great guys and awesome products.
Playing devils advocate, if you spend the money you have a brand new (or close to) motor in your 80. You can count on it for years. Just have to ask yourself how much you love it. Part it for 1-2k, possibly buy a new one, or spend 7k, and keep the trusty cruiser with a new power plant.
A "birf" is a birflield joint. You have 2 on your 80 up front. They are up front and connect to the long (DS) and short (PS) axle shafts. They are a ball and socket joint design and reside within the "knuckle" of your 80. If you look under the front end of your vehicle this will make a lot...
If I ever ride any portion of my control arms it's always it is always middle backwards, where the offset helps out. Everything else is tucked out of the way. It's both cruiser and rock friendly. Nice work on the new 80!
Western States Trip
Hey all,
Just got back from a Western States trip with my buddy. The focus of the trip was Moab, but they had so much snow and ice you couldn't run any trails. We spent the night looking for offroad areas and found your chapter associated with Logandale. They have some...
A few months ago I purchased a set of Metal Tech's Upper and Lower rear adjustable control arms. The fit was outstanding, and installation was a breeze. I had bent a factory lower control arm on my last trip to Moab, LT at Metal Tech got me hooked up with their new control arms. I just got back...
As for the ARB lockers, they work great and super durable, but are expensive. The ARB's are nice because they cycle with the push of a switch, the factory electronic ones sometimes take a few seconds to engage/disengage. I have a factory locked 80, but even while off road I don't engage them...
