When I moved from Colorado I drove the 80 behind the moving van. Top speed 55mph. Slooooooooooow up hills (like 25-30mph). It averaged an almost inconceivable 18.7mpg over 1400 miles.
I'll never drive that slow by choice.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for 4-runner limited seats? I'm in the process of swapping them into my 80 and any help with the wiring pinouts would be greatly appreciated.
Get local comps, their first offer is always a lowball. Find 3 1995 or newer landcruisers with the same mileage or less and same condition or better. Send the three to your adjuster and say you'll take an amount in the middle, plus the cost of replacement of anything you had in the vehicle.
I suspect the wheel bearing preload was too loose, or the bearings seized and spun on the spindle. Either way a call to any of the parts guru's on here will get you fixed up.
I'm sure it would work, and it would probably be adequate and get better mileage than stock. If i'm going to the work of doing a swap it will be a diesel or V8, but if the V6 and manual will make you happy then go for it. Just don't expect any resale value.
What makes you say that it will shift into second with the shifter in low? Mine will hold first bouncing off the redline while the shifter is in low and the transfer case is in low. While I have never tried at speed, I have always experienced an immediate downshift into first when pulling the...
It's not much harder to pull the entire engine/trans/transfer case as 1 than to pull just the engine. Pull the whole chunk, repair/refresh off the truck, and then replace as 1 piece.
I agree. Driving both my 80 and my wife's 2uz powered gx which weighs about 500lbs more than my stripped out 80, the gx is much much faster. Floor my 80 to pass someone going 45 and it's going 65 when I finish the pass. The gx is going 85+. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2uz put more than...
