I'm totally stumped and could use some help. I've been trying to get my front seat controls to work. They were acting up, but I could still get things like the lumbar to work. I took the switch control module out and worked on it a bit, put it back together and when I reinstalled I heard some...
Thanks again for the customized vice-grips. I can't say this job was too exciting, but it was riveting :rimshot: They are now available to be passed along to the next person that needs them, just give me a shout. One thing I noticed is that if after clamping them if you give them a little 1/2"...
Does anyone make a template for where to mount the steering box on the frame? The frame I'm building is completely stripped, so going off the linkage, etc. is not an option.
Built some dollies for the frame and got the frame put on them. Now I can start working on the thing without breaking my back. Also got the rain gutter blasted...some before and after photos...
The work on the top continues. Got the gutter removed and the old seam sealer cleaned up. Also repaired some fiberglass damage with West System epoxy (marine epoxy made for fiberglass) and some fiberglass filler. Next up is fixing up the gutter. I was hesitant to remove it, but now that it's off...
If the brotherhood of the traveling vice-grips is still in effect, I could use them. After trying to remove all the old caulk/seam sealer from my top in an effort to reseal it, I'm throwing in the towel and just going to remove the gutter completely to ensure I get all the gunk out of there...
Brought home a new frame today I found local. This will be a lot easier than fixing the rear crossmember, shock towers, spring perches, and bumper mounts that a previous owner hacked up and crazy welded. This new frame has the wiggly crossmember removed, but that should be a relatively easy fix.
Looking fo a set of upper ambulance door hinges in good restorable condition. If you have a set, please let me know what you are asking for them. Thanks.
Also worked on the windshild cap/visor thing. Used the old one as a template for where holes should be drilled, painted it in Cygnus white, painted the top in the hard-to-reach places once this is installed, and put some butyl tape on it before riveting it down.
Out with the old, in with the new. Just getting this test fitted for now, will primer/paint before install. I went with the correct 1972 windshield cap to match up to my windshield frame, so this top is going to truly be a hybrid now.
