Hey Brent, I believe I still have an extra TCLA sticker (with backing, to boot) if you'd like it. Hit me offline with your address and I'll throw it in the mail for you.
I'm sorry to hear you are angry Brian, and I guess there are two sides to every story. Here's my side, just for the record:
We talked on Wednesday evening. You offered a price, I countered and said what I would require for a deposit, you said you'd think about it (talk with your wife) and get...
I'll add a quarter, as well (though I can't guarantee it'll be shiny). How about a , too? Okay, just wanted to use that smiley.
Okay folks, the Cruiser was sold this afternoon, and now my garage is sad and empty. Looks like I need to change my icon and profile (and now it looks like...
Junk and others, I took a deposit on the Cruiser this morning, and it's already been inspected by a mechanic so I think the deal will close this afternoon. Unfortunately, Brian's not the buyer.
Thanks,
Simmons
Thanks for all of the support---this is an amazing group of folks, and you can be sure I'll be lurking around here still. I don't know who will miss the Cruiser more---me, or my 5-year-old daughter, who cried when I told her what had to be done. (Of course, I cried too, but we don't need to...
Gentlemen (and Junk),
It was fun while it lasted, but with the imminent coming of layoffs at work---the final announcement today---I've decided to sell my 94 FZJ80, which means I'll be Cruiserless. It's been a great ride (pun only partially intended), and I'll definitely miss the good...
2.5" OME lift, don't know the shock #s, but they must be kind of old because even Christo didn't know the #s---but they are OME, and it doesn't sag with the ARB bullbar, sliders, and Slee rear bumper/tire carrier, which I think says something good about OME.
Still with stock-size Michelins...
Had to add one more:
My 5-year-old daughter took this photo, with her 110 Barbie camera, as we headed toward Pipeline. I take off the headrest of the front passenger seat when it's just she and I so she has a better view.
Turns out the trail wasn't a dead end after all! ;)
A few more photos from our mid-April Sedona run.... :D
Let's start with some scenery:
First stop on Broken Arrow is Submarine Rock:
Shared with the Pink Jeep tours:
The 100 led, and I (being the newbie) followed fairly closely behind most of the time to see where his tires (an...
Agreed---thanks Woody! At first I was concerned because from home I was having problems getting in, but that was resolved quickly (and a personal note, to boot!) and now I like this setup quite a bit more than the SOR forum, in large part because of the other forums here (Chit Chat, Trail Runs...
I've been warned by a repair shop of repute that the Man-a-Fre kits leak. The previous owner used the Man-a-Fre kit on my Cruiser before I bought it, and it leaked enough after 5K-7K miles that the job had to be redone (then used Toyota parts). Not sure if this is directly attributable to the...
By the way, that Website design/maintenance trading deal is a standing offer for Slee Off-Road, because most of the $$ from the work I'm doing will probably go to something "absolutely essential" from Christo, anyway! :D
Front rebuild was roughly $1,100 down here, at a more expensive shop but one with a great reputation. However, I'm doing a little business trading, so it's working out to be far less. By business trading, I mean: I'm not a mechanic, and won't pretend to be one (though will try things like...
Bought my 94, 115K miles, with lockers and all the trimmings (plus OME 2.5" lift, though older) in January for $11,800. Thought that was a good deal at the time, though since have had to replace radiator and water pump, replace all disc brakes, rebuild front and rear axles (that's actually a...
