Hi,
I have a green 1997 80-series with 158k miles on it. I've had the truck for three years now and have spent too much time on this site searching for things to do, fix, maintain. Alas, my new job, wife, and house cause me to put my hobbies aside for a while so I'm looking to free up some...
How's everyone doing?
I made to a few meetings a little over a year ago and then i moved to DC. I recentyl moved back to the area (westchester, NY). Looking forward to meeting up again.
Also, it's about time I have new shocks/springs installed. I've moved them to DC and back without...
Thanks,
The light went off yesterday but the truck is still running poorly. I think the codes are still stored for a while even though the light goes off so I'll bring it to autozone...i think there's one right on Georgia Ave. Anyway, thanks guys...see you soon.

What's up guys,
Sorry I've missed the last two meetings, things are a little crazy right now. Anyway, I made a run up to NJ last weekend and on my way back the check engine light came on. Two minutes later my oil light flashed on and off. I pulled over and check the oil. I was a little...
I guess I'll have to change my screen name in a few weeks. How's everybody doing? My name is Ryan, and I'm moving to Silver Spring, MD in two weeks. I'm a member of Gotham City Land Cruisers of NY/NJ/CT...but sshhhh I haven't told anyone yet. My truck is a 97 80 series, and aside from a few...
Whitey,
Nicely done. This will most likely be my next project given I can save up some cash. I hope I'm not asking too much, but any pics of the sub-setup?
Thanks again!
On the inside of the driver's side door are there instructions to something...possibly engaging the center diff lock  . Mine is completely worn off. Anyone have a pic?
Thanks,
Ryan
Hey Guys,
I did the birf's a few weeks ago, and for lack of time I didn't bleed the brakes. Is it a big deal that I postponed this step, or can I wait a little while? The truck stops the same as it did before the PM...a little spongy. My pads are good, but the rotors are slightly warped...
Finally I'm done... thanks to all the mud members: Junk...for the phone support, Elmariachi...for the DVD, and of course Cdan for the parts. I did most of the job on Sunday and finished up today. Over all the job wasn't bad, just time consuming. Tips for anyone doing this job are:
1. See...
I hope my attempt at the birf job is better than the joke in the title...went over a few heads. ANyway, I'm not looking forward to being on my knees all day, elbows deep in that slippery s***...oh no what did I just start.
First Birf Job that is. Tomorrow after work I dig in to what will be the most detailed PM i've done on the truck to date. With the board's help, the DVD from El Mariachi, and the FSM I'm good to go. Now if I can just manage to get through the project without dropping a birf on my foot I'll...
First Birf Job...
So this weekend I'll attempt my first BJ. I'm doing it at a friend's house in exchange for me cleaning his garage out first. I decided not to buy the wheel bearings seeing as though they were repacked 20,000 miles ago, but now I'm thinking that was a bad idea. Tomorrow I'll...
