I blocked the rear ac, no issues for back seats in summer, but live in NY so not too hot. My mechanic ordered the parts, those were the least expensive part, about $20 for each line.
Need to follow up often, otherwise it gets put off. I don’t mind the wait, it opens a space in my driveway when I leave a vehicle there for project. If it’s something you need within a specific time frame, just tell him and check back every couple days, it will get done quicker.
I know two good places out here. One in Baldwin, the other further out in St. James. Baldwin is a little more expensive, the guy in St. James knows Toyota’s and Lexus well, and reasonable pricing, just takes his time. let me know if interested, I will PM their info.
My rear looks about the same. I used to be more concerned about rust, but living in NY it’s just another thing we get to deal with. If you need a good mechanic, let me know. There are a couple out here on Long Island that work on my vehicles, and never have any issues with rusted bolts etc.
Looks pretty normal for NY rust, check the passenger frame where the ac drips, mine had a long section that needed to be cut out and welded a new plate there. You can extend the drip hose so it drips below the frame to prevent future issues.
