    ECU Number Needed

I am in search of the part number of an ECU for a FZJ80 that meets the following criteria: 1. Controls the 1FZFE engine. 2. Controls the A442F transmission. 3. Controls the ERG. 4. Has provision to accept O2 Sensor inputs. 5. Does not have provision to accept Crankshaft Position Sensor input...

Air Conditioning Gurus - please help

I have a '96 FZJ80 with front/rear a/c and a fridge console. A few months back, my alternator went bad and voltage dropped and caused the a/c to slip. The slipping in turn caused the temp to elevate and eventually blew the seal of the clutch bearing and binded it. I believe this is what...

New 80 Series owner with OME question

IMHO, there is little point going for a 2.5" lift while using drop brackets.

    TJM vs BILSTEIN SHOCKS

I beleive I have about 2" lift on mine using OME 850 springs in the front and 863s in the back. I use a set of the B46 Bilteins. The ride appears rather soft but comfortable. That said, the shocks respond fast when needed though.

    Bilstein Shocks and OME Springs?

I have not tried them with any serious off-road exercies as the truck is mainly used for expeditions. On the other hand, I remember reading from seomwhere that these shocks are useable for upto 2-2.5" lift. Can anyone confirm that?

    Bilstein Shocks and OME Springs?

Anyone? For the rear I use B46-1478-H1 and the ride seems OK, harder than stock and mre controlled.

    Bilstein Shocks and OME Springs?

Trying to resurrect this thread... I am using OME 850 for the front and OME 861 (if memory serves well) for the rear. I then installed the Biltein B46-1477-H1 shocks for the front and the ride appears very soft (very close to stock ride). Has anyone experienced the same using similar...

The Proper Way of Windshield Chrome Trim Install?

The shop used a screwdriver to install the strips (that is also what the FSM suggests), using a new OEM seal, but still damaged a few spots on the strip as well as the seals. Guess that with the help of a proper set of tools, that damage could be at least minimized.

The Proper Way of Windshield Chrome Trim Install?

This is a picture of the lock strip installed in the seal. The width of the exposed metal strip is about 8mm and the total width (including the seal covered lips) is about 12mm.

The price for that set of tools is rather steep.

The Proper Way of Windshield Chrome Trim Install?

Mine is a '96 and yes, it is not a vehicle for the US market. Would you shed more lights as to the BMW lock strip tool, or perhaps a picture of this tool? Thanks.

The Proper Way of Windshield Chrome Trim Install?

My windscreen seal is leaking at one corner. This is a seal which I had a windshield shop installed about a year ago replacing a former seal which was also leaking badly. I was not aware of the sealant around b/w the windshield and the gasket at the time (neither was the windshield shop) and I...

    Importing from China

I am based in Hong Kong and work in China, and I see heaps of China made products being exported out to the US everyday. The point being, all import formalities have been well established for a long time and you just have to hop onto the right people that deal with them.
