    City racer carb setup?

Assuming you are talking about the City Racer Fuji carb, it should be very straight forward for a desmogged 60. The earlier carbs used on 40s are taller and have a few differences. It's takes a little more effort for a 40. I have one on my 40 for several years now and it has worked great.

    Stuck dizzy

I drove my 40 for years with a frozen dizzy. Over time, I tried all kinds of stuff to break it loose with no success. One day, before going away for a long weekend, I tied the dizzy to a rafter in my garage with just a little tension. Came home and it popped right out.

Search "rear disc" in the faq section. Edit-sorry, i see you already did.

Hard "clunk" when shifting into reverse and drive. 1989 FJ62. Doesn't happen all the time.

Back in the old "3FE Yahoo" days, there were a couple of threads on using Green grease on the DS splines to help cushion the slop. Might worth a try...

    Starting trouble V8 swap

Apparently, back feeding from the alternator to the ignition switch is a thing. See info from following link You could try this. https://www.painlessperformance.com/wc/lv.php?sl=30720 You really need more info on the circuit. Regardless, the diode is not going to hurt anything as long as it's...

    Starting trouble V8 swap

Going by the symbols and the way it's hooked up, it's a diode that only allows current from the switch to the white wire (current would be blocked from going back to the switch). Hard to say why a diode is needed in the ignition circuit. To your point, definitely replace it if it's burnt.

    Starting trouble V8 swap

You say the white wire goes to a relay? Is the relay connected to the starter solenoid?

2F not shutting off via ignition switch

With the 40s, the starter has a 3rd wire that provides power to the coil from the solenoid while cranking. It's not needed for the newer electronic ignition. Any chance this wire is incorrectly hooked up? You might try disconnecting it.

    No Start/No Power Issue

To add, measure voltage at the ammeter with the wire connected, if it reads low then measure the input harness (passenger side, I think) disconnected from ammeter. See if the readings are significantly different. 3.5v indicates that there may be an unwanted series load. Also, Blown alternator...

    No Start/No Power Issue

You may have a short somewhere. I would pull the positive battery cable and check for current draw. Definitely disconnect your negative cable if you are going to leave it for the night.

    No Start/No Power Issue

So zero volts voltage at the fuse block with ignition off (no voltage on the top 4 fuses, no lights, no horn)?

    No Start/No Power Issue

Check to see if you are getting 12v to the Fuse Block. If yes, See if you get 12V across the fuses (some circuits, the ignition will need to be on). A lot of times, corrosion will build up on those old Glass tube fuse sockets. Highly recommend a power probe III if you don't already have one.

What 33 x 9.5 tires are currently available?

If you don't mind the road noise, Swamper TSL radial 32x9.5x15 are awesome. I ran these on my 40 with stock springs.

    Alternator Wiring

If your alternator has two mounting ears it's probably a CS130 7973. There's a few threads on mud for this swap. To work properly there needs to be a resistor or a lamp (4 watts, IIRC) involved. Painless has a connector kit that includes the resistor and instructions...

    Fj40 disc brakes

Many years ago, I swapped in Mini-truck knuckles for the larger steering bolts birfs. I opted not to use the mini-truck rotor/hubs and reused the LC hubs rotors and calipers. You might want to confirm that you have the early style LC knuckles with smaller trunion bolt pattern. The...

    Fj40 disc brakes

Looks like you might have picked up a 40 axel with a mini truck disc conversion. This was pretty popular back in the day. These have the same "large pattern" knuckles as the FJ60s. IIRC the mini truck rotors are a press fit.

Maybe someone can confirm but i think the 50mm id bearings are the rear carrier bearings used in the full floating 80 series (94-97).
