I have a set of Cooper stt tires for a bit over a month. I went from 285 in Hercules trail digger tires to 315 cooper stt. Immediately they pulled hard left. I had them cross switched the next day, then waited a while to get other mods done before finally having it aligned. I have had it aligned...
Hello all, I'm interested in going up to Browns Camp tomorrow, 6-10-12. Is anyone interested? I've been there a few times and know some trails but am glad to see more. I'm rolling an 80 series on 35's, locked all around. Probably getting there around noon-2pm. Any takers? Nate
FWIW, I...
OME 860 REAR SPRINGS FOR FZJ80. these are springs that come with the OMe "medium" lift kit.
New swing out bumper has me selling the 860's. I will ship in the OME box that the new 863's came in. Shipping cost to you is what It cost me to ship it, probably UPS. I live near the main Portland...
I have the OEM luggage off of my 1997 LX 450 for sale. *This should fit the Land Cruiser of the same year and likely others, but call a Toyota dealer to check and see. *This will be very useful if you have a vehicle with a damaged OEM rack.
$100
**It would be theoretically "possible" to...
spend the money!
They could likely all be good rigs. I have a feeling the 80's would more comfortable and DD friendly, newer engine etc. I like getting 4x4's that haven't been abused. Not that getting one that has some mods is necessarily an issue, but I'm just saying. Of course, it all...
Cartercd, now that's what I'm talking about! I dig full bumpers, but would like something simple to protect the rig. Metal tech's 80' has tube protection with a similar idea. They said, one day soon they will be production, but not yet...
Also, I really dig the OP's rig, bumper and all! One...
80t0ylc,I do like the way it looks with those knobby 265's... Beefy tires = good! I have the 2.5 lift plus the 1.5" metal tech spacers on mine. I'm running 285's and I like them. Stock gears. I'll admit that I'd like to have 315's, but until I have a rear tire carrier, storage makes it a no go...

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. I put the tires on a few days later and...
Thanks for all your input!
I appreciate all of the input that I received from this post. I have bought tires and I went with the 285's.
I based my personal decision on a few things. Mostly, for now, it will be on the road. Also, I need it to be a reasonable height to get my baby on the...
I just went and looked at some tires. The ones I liked in my budget were the Kelly Safari's. They look pretty sweet. 315's for $900 (4) and $100 less for the 285's. I am truly on the fence... price isn't an issue, but ill need a place to store the spare. What are you guys doing? I've read...
Yes, this dead horse has been beaten. I know a lot of you guys run the 315's on stock gears. I have been reading what I can find about it on here, but am having a hard time effectively aggregating the info from so many sources in my head.
I just ordered the 2.5" OME lift. I discussed this...
Arndog, you think it'd be ok with medium on the front with no bumper? Would I need 1"-1.5" spacers right away? What does your wife think about it as a DD?
Really? On a DD running 4.10's? Got pix of a ride with the 315's and 2.5 lift? I REALLY won't regear for a LONG time. I can afford the 315's but I want it to ride nice. $100 for 1" spacers might be ok, but not 2k for gears.
Thanks for all of the input. I made the decision and ordered the lift. This was pretty much at odds with what seems to be an overwhelming agreement that the sliders are the way to go... I think that facing the reality of my immediate future, the lift wins. I am thrilled to be a new father...
Thanks for your help. It's good to know that I'll have a place to store my spare. I want full size. They look cool up on the roof, but until I'm wheeling it hard and probably have a rock bumper, it'll probably stay under the rig. It has enough wind resistance as it is! I reckon having it...
