    Engine replacement

I bought a 5.3L LM7 from BD Turnkey engines and have been very happy with that motor (now going on 11 years). My current combo is: 5.3L LS / SM420 Trans / 3spd Tcase. I'd like to go to a NV4500 or H55F / Splitcase for some more useable gears for highway and city driving (I live in San...

Wanted So-Cal, looking for dash mount turn signal indicator bulb housings

SOR is the only place selling them new from what I could find. I bought 2 which was over 100 bucks. 1 showed up with flattened threads on both the M12 and M16 side. I used a die for the M12 side and a metric thread file for the m16 side. Easy fix but frustrating for such an expensive part

Wanted So-Cal, looking for dash mount turn signal indicator bulb housings

yeah if they are the same that would be great. I'm also not sure if I need the black cap that looks like it may hold the bulb in place like this one

Wanted So-Cal, looking for dash mount turn signal indicator bulb housings

I think the ones in the back of the cluster are small, black, twist in style. The dash ones look like what is pictured above. I have all autometer gauges in this rig so no original cluster to confirm. I am going off of this image from cityracer

Wanted So-Cal, looking for dash mount turn signal indicator bulb housings

@ToyotaMatt I recently purchased the pins that the front shocks connect to and had to go buy corresponding dies to straighten out all the threads. Pretty disappointing especially for a 45.00 part.

Wanted  So-Cal, looking for dash mount turn signal indicator bulb housings

I have the chrome surface mount turn signal housings. I'm looking for the actual bulb holders and wiring that goes behind the dash. Pictured on the right, below. Shipping would be to 92029.

1 year of re-ownership down and I celebrated with some new bilstein's for the 40. It had some old ranchos from the 90's in there that had long since failed. I could compress all 4 with almost no effort. New shocks feel great, rig rides a lot better and a lot of the squeaking has died down.

Wanted 1968 FJ40 Front upper shock mount stud

Thanks Kevos, I think I'll take them. SOR sells aftermarket ones, which I picked up. I'll use one and keep the others for spares.

Wanted  1968 FJ40 Front upper shock mount stud

Both of mine have threads that are beyond repair. Search says they are NLA from Toyota. Looking to find a useable set

@theoii the bolt next to the tool box I added, all the others are factory holes that I re used. Hope this helps

I'll snap some pictures tonight. I never had factory seat frames. Only ghetto fab PO brackets

Post #7 is the only other picture I have of the build process. I had to have a local guy weld them up for me. It's using the factory frames bolt holes, so it's shifted to the drivers side

I haven't fully decided against it yet, but a couple issues I have are: I'd like to have a regular 5spd with no granny 1st gear. I like how they shift vs. the more clunky truck feel of the NV They are hard to find, and if buying a reman they are about as pricey as a new H55F If going through...

My frames are as low as possible without hitting the tank. If I ever go to a rear tank I'd go back and cut the legs down about an inch or so for a slightly better view. I'm 5'9" and every once in awhile I feel like I'm looking at the top of the window frame. Rear seats use the factory body...

    Craigslist Finds

Any chance we know the owner of this rig? I emailed and got a reply, but very few details out of them. Reverse google image search shows other listings out of Texas. CL ad says it has a Vortec V8 and the older ad says straight 6. Possible it got more work to it done here. I have a friend that...

    Soft Top Questions

There's a thread on here about here being non-responsive to customers that have paid in full. I think I'll have to pass until she is in a better spot. I do really like her magnet approach after seeing a video on it.

    Soft Top Questions

I recently bought back my old 1968 FJ40, that was originally a hard top. Hard top and the old best top are long gone, currently all I have is a bikini top. I really like the look of the OEM style tops, but not sure what is involved in going that route. For those that have them: 1. I need to...
