    Can this be pulled/hammered out?

I second this. Just replace the doors and fender with a good used set.

you thoughts on an oil-less air compressor?

At 30 gallons, running an impact, you will have no issues. If you start using something that is very thirsty for air (like HVLP painting or a pneumatic sander), then you will notice a difference. For impact drivers, nail guns, staplers, etc. you won't notice any need for more performance.

    Carb insulator

My approach to getting the thickness correct: Figure out what thickness is appropriate to keep the studs from interfering with the throttle plate housing, while getting you as much thread engagement possible. I can't tell from your post above if you are remembering to account for gasket...

    BRAKES

This is not normal operation. A few things to check, and the reasoning for my ideas: 1. Have you already adjusted the shoes? There are 8 adjusters (one for each shoe). -if the shoe adjusters are backed out, it wall take multiple pumps of the pedal to move enough fluid into the wheel cylinders...

    After Market Harness Opinions

I did this. I had to re-solder a few joints and add wire to a few parts of the harness that were worse-for-wear. One trick that works wonderfully for a cheapskate: splice (use solder!) lengths of wire into the portions of the harness that will be wrapped, so all of your wire ends still match the...

    67 Oil Filter Canister fitting

You are correct on both counts: those are straight fittings, which seemed impossible for me to find when I needed new fuel lines. Yes, they are the same as the oil filter. In the case of my fuel lines, I was able to have all new lines built using the fittings I salvaged from my old fuel and oil...

Brief carb help please. Have to pull gas pedal to get it to idle low.

Is it hanging up because some part of the linkage is in the way, or will a shorter (or stronger) throttle return spring do the trick?

Vacuum is 18-20 in Hg, depending on idle mixture settings. Rebuilt, not running well enough to drive or break in.

    F-135 Rebuild

I'm just reciting the info that the machinist gave me. I don't know enough about valves to be able to speak intelligently beyond this.

    Carburetor tuning for dummies

Yes, mine is set up as you describe. I made sure all the metering rod movements and linkages worked on reassembly. The top of the metering rod linkage (internal) has a bendable link to adjust where the metering rod is located, relative to the throttle input. One possible solution is to find out...

    F-135 Rebuild

I had the head rebuilt with hardened valve seats and valves. I believe the machinist used hardened valves from a small block Chevy, because they were closest to original valves in the siamese-port head. He had to machine new keeper grooves, find close springs, and shim the springs to get preload...

    Carburetor tuning for dummies

Bowl level stays good. The problem is instantaneous (not like it runs well until the bowl depletes). I blew through all passages with pressurized carb cleaner after I dipped the main body, and all seemed to be flowing as far as I could tell. Do my symptoms seem like a lean mixture problem? I...

    Carburetor tuning for dummies

I need help with getting my 1966 F135 tuned for drive ability. Here's where I'm at: Rebuilt engine. All rings and bearings are new, fresh hone, new valves and hardened seats. I put a Keyser carb rebuild kit in the Aisin SD-40. I replaced all ignition components (except the distributor...

    Barn Rebuild: The family heirloom

    Barn Rebuild: The family heirloom

I haven't been here in forever. Here's the current status: It drives, stops and turns. All lights work, but I haven't done the barn doors, and have no license light yet. That, and seat belts, are the primary things that will keep this from passing safety inspection in TX. I only need WS...

Show us the bushing/spacer between the hinge for the Bib and the frame. I'm guessing it is thicker than factory.
