I thought not, but there is one in the Arlington Pull-a-Part with
tags that say 'Meets all Federal motor vehicle standards for 1983'
and a BJ60 VIN to match. Which looks like US labelling.
Oh, and I snagged the transmission.
(but it's for a 3b, so not so much gloat)

What's the part number for the early (1 piece thrust bearing) 2F flywheel bolts?
(manual trans, of course)
I went searching, but the terms are too common- and finding bolts on ToyoDIY
doesn't seem to work.
Thank you!

Ok, I searched until my google fell off, all 17 pages of RocDoc's thread (which is an
excellent read, btw) and everything that Pappy wrote.
Where I'm getting into trouble is in duplicating EITHER the 2F OR the 3FE's aux
coolant routing. This is for a 2FE into a late 60.
Things you already...
Are they worth it?
I've torn down exactly one 2F and 2 3FE heads, but there doesn't seem to be much
more valve recession on the 300k 2F than there was on the 3FE with similar miles.
I'll probably end up running them because I have a good set of 3FE rockers,
but they seem to add quite a...
So a lot of the smog equipment on a 62 is not particularly high quality- especially the air pump system.
I'm taking that off, and the cat has mysteriously disappeared as well.
But making the assumption that the EGR is functioning properly,
and that I like breathing cleaner air more than I...
Jeepers-
it's just a relay, and it's almost a hunnert bux??? Even the dorky dual-
coil fuel pump relay doesn't cost that much, and it's got 2 coils in it...
It doesn't even swith half the EFI loads- the keyswitch does most of that!
Just grousin' :D

Those passages look tiny to me, coming from the world of BMW racing...
There are a lot of tight spots, sharp corners, small primary (pre- main- gallery)
passages in there.
I know there was at least one thread a while back about beefing it up,
but I can't find it now.
Are...
Okey- doke, I've been snarking other people's threads long enough:
the engine that's in the truck (86 FJ60) is clattering away, and it's time to
get started on an upgraded replacement.
I've got an earlier 60 2f shortblock, and the top of a 3fe from an 89
(thanks, Elliot) and almost all...
For some reason, I got it into my head that the early 3FE FJ80's electronics were pretty
much the same as the 62. I'd searched, I was the internet expert!
Y'all can laugh at me now.
There's one at the PnP in Arlington- and it's waaayyy different electrically.
I was hoping for some...
Ok, here's a long shot- Its time for someone else to adopt this car. I have too many. But I'd LOVE to have an H55F with split case for my FJ60. So, if you have an extra AND want something VERY different than a Land Cruiser to take to the track, let's trade!
Otherwise, mostly due to the...
Ok, time to get started on this project for serious. But of course,
there are things I can't find with my limited search skills...
First- does the 3fe computer really need the oxygen sensors?
(I'm guessing it does to get out of open loop, but hey, start at the beginning?)
Second- can you use...
Ok, some background...
Here's the patient:
here's the engine:
I trust this gauge well enough- after a couple of minutes of warming up, it says:
...
and the sound:Ouch! (in wav format)
a longer version, warming up a bit from stone cold:Duck! (in mp3)
...
The...
With all the galley plug posts, I had a thought
(yeah, I searched, but the terms are too common)
what about using the galley plug as an oil pressure sender location?
Given its distance from the pump, it would seem to be a good indicator
of general engine health...

As I'm stripping the 3FE parts engine-
blown head gasket, scuffed mystery die- grindered pistons, more gasket adhesive than I've ever used in my life on ALL the engines I've put together-
I'm having this problem:
There's a lot of CR*P on a 3FE. Air injection, vacuum valves, 3 electric...
Ok, I DID search, and didn't find anything...
On the short list is to redo the front axle.
However, the normally- shiny pivot 'ball' surfaces on the
front axle that serve to protect
the Birfs are rusty. Not structurally rusty, but bad enough that
a new seal kit's going to get chowed in short...
Heck, I'd even take just one- the main leaf on the right side, well, let's say,
the military wrap is a good idea...
PM or email's good- RacerY at comcast dot net
Thanks!

Hey, a 60's leaf spring's wider than 2 1/4", isn't it?
This came up in a different thread about something else, but I just ran across this stuff-
Spring Liners with Lip - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop
and
Flat Spring Liners - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop
and...
First off, cbmongo's right- there's not a lot of oil flying around up there.
A lot less than the Chevy 250... where you adjust the valves with the motor running! (https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/509193-hey-runs-but-stuck-valve.html)
I'm chasing valve noise, and I'm starting to...
So I got an '86 in January, and have been dicking around with getting
the air pump, PS pump, etc going, along with the other things
that you have to do to pay the bills...
it hadn't run since 2004, so there were a lot of things that were in
need of work. Lots that still are, too...
but...
