Hi
I did not know that those links expired. Here is a new link to, what I belive is the same album. HDJ80 renovering - https://photos.app.goo.gl/RkUfEEzAHXX9yKcq5
have taken the transfer apart. Found a bearing that might be the source. A tapered bearing for the idler gear. Looks a little bad and maybe if the preload have become to light the outer race will sometime rotate?
Got a weird sound from somewhere around the transfer case. Tried to film it.
It appears to be the same sound as in this tread Name that Tune!! (mystery cruiser noise) with video - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/name-that-tune-mystery-cruiser-noise-with-video.1111829/ But there is no conclusion...
Have you ever figured out what that sound is?
I am having the same thing happening. But not related to front or rear diff, since it still is there if I remove one of the propshafts...
With chance of being obvious : Have you checked your rear propshaft for correct phasing?
I had the same thing happening for me, getting worse and worse as the months flew by.
Installed the diff lock button and drove the car a couple of days without rear propchaft. No noise .
Then went ahead an...
I would start by simply removing one leaf from the spring pack, it really made a difference for my ride. It sat rather high with the OME springs and also was very hard, but after the removal of only one layer is settled a bit and become much more drivable. Note, I only removed a layer from the...
Yep, but I think the runnigboards concludes the build ;)
It runs good, steering and braking are fine and better than you would expect for an old car. But I think the 3B is a little underpowered. So if one day I find a 13BT I proberly would consider a swap.
No, unfortunately cant find any specs. But now I am curious and will try to write to a danish factory, who makes complete pipe kits in both copper, copper-nickel and steel..

will post their answer here...
I have heard that rumor before. Fact is that copper has been used as brakepipes for more than 35 years (maybe longer but I am only 44) in Denmark and I have yet to see or hear of a brake failure because of that.
I know there is also copper-nickel, and it is easier to work with but also more...
I replaced the two pipes along the frame a couple of years ago.
It was only the section from the middle and back that was bad, so i cut the in a easy to reach spot, flared them, and join them together with new copper pipes. The back section is, not easy, but doable, to tuck in between frame and...
