    12ht injection pump

mines just over 180k but I don't know if they wound her back or not. I must admit that from what I have seen it seems as though they could be not too far off the original Km's

    12ht injection pump

I was in this category. The mob I took it to first time around who will remain unnamed advanced the bejesus out of it, luckily I didn't loose my recently rebuilt engine. Thankfully the second time at another workshop it was tuned in properly. I considered getting the pump done before I took it...

not much left of this 60

That burnt pretty hot, nothing that would be salvageable there. Best value is to scrap the steel. :-(

    Constantly loosening wheel bearing

+2, I would have to agree. I had the same problem, my thrust washers were toast too and I wanted to swap them but I didn't, (Long story) I reversed them instead knowing that I'd have to go back in there again. My drivers side was ok but the passenger one loosened up a couple of times. I know...

    Dual Alternator FJ62?

G'day, I wouldn't put that sort of effort in for the gain and other options that are available to you. It's a lot of stuffing around. If you want more amps i'd just swap your current alt for a higher output unit. I've put a second alt in a HJ61 and there is a bit a fab work to do and then...

    Vacuum / Alternator/Brakes

Make sure that you don't have any blockages in the vacuum system. If the vacuum pump doesn't work then your engine will not shut down when you turn the key off if you still have the stock system in place. Test all the hoses thoroughly with a vacuum gauge and blow them out with compressed air...

HJ60 Cost of Ownership in the US

Too true. Plus some of the rigs that are rusted here have done some heavy beach work which trashes them like they are on the eastern seaboard of NA or worse. If it's not the beach work it's the roof where there was a roof rack attached to that's trashed. I'd do as Rosco suggested and swap an...

    Diesel conversion writeup big $$$$$

Gee..... That is a fair bit of coin to drop on a conversion. I always wondered why people go to all that trouble. I can't imagine how much and how hard it is to get insurance to cover their cars after the conversion, even when they decide to sell (because it will get old someday), you are really...

Brakes are functional but seem weak.

Sounds to me like vacuum related. start by checking if there is vacuum going to the booster. If so then I'd look at the booster being faulty. If there is no vacuum then I'd be looking for a blockage somewhere from the intake manifold to booster. Be sure to also check the vacuum reservoir as well.

    12HT Economy

12.31 LT to 100km, no extra weight, 30% city 70% Highway driving and that is with a pretty heavy right foot. Since the 2nd tune the drivability is like night and day from what it was beforehand, the engine sounds completely different also. :)

    12HT Economy

Well...... Firstly, for people looking at this thread in the future, I am posting my preliminary results. There is nothing worse and I know when you research something not to find a solution even when the OP said they'll provide a solution. OK..... So I took it to a reputable diesel pump...

    60 Landcruiser Fuel issue

PO is Previous owner. You might want to address the glow plug issue as well as that will make a considerable difference. Unfortunately, when PO make modifications and don't know what they are doing usually leads to more problems than improvements. The 5th hill climb at 100km and having to...

    60 Landcruiser Fuel issue

I don't think that you'll need to replace the sediment filter. If your light is on and providing that it's working correctly it means that there is water that needs to be drained out. This can be done by removing the screw at the bottom of the sediment filter and draining the water. When you do...

    12HT Economy

Yes, it reads slightly less than actual travel speed. Actual speed 100km, GPS speed 98km. It's a difference but it's not excessive. Yes, and steel unfortunately so this is against me. No No I'll have to setup a camera to know for sure although I cannot see anything behind whilst I drive but...

    12HT Economy

Thanks you all very much for your replies, there has been some really good info supplied and very varied results. I have made the decision to put my pump in to get done but it will have to wait until I get the coin together. Once I get her done I'll run some comparisons and report back on the...

    12HT Economy

mun60 - I had it dyno tuned not too long ago, they done the fuel and timing then. I haven't noticed any smoke, i think that I'll have to set up a camera at the back to see for sure. I usually do fill up at the same servo but I also have changed it around and the figures are about that high 13's...

    12HT Economy

Yeah, I thought the same Rosco.... Even Mr Toyota said so in the FSM, that's why I didn't put it in to be rebuilt originally but now I'm not too sure. mun60, I'd love those figures. I dropped short on my way to WA, 5km out of Norseman be be exact . Luckily I had another 40 lt of diesel...

    12HT Economy

Mine's pretty well stock (2.5 inch ex is the only mod) does 80% Hwy 20% City driving and I can't get better than high 13's...... Don't worry I drive it like a granny and it still doesn't make a difference.... That's why I posted though, that way I can see if I can do better. My main reason...

    12HT Economy

There is quite a bit of fluctuation in the figures, 10lt to the 100km would be great but I don't expect to get that out of my 12ht, if by some miracle i do someday then that will be a bonus. What gets me is that figures don't really change much loaded or not. When I got this engine about...

It's time for a new start. A push button start!

Hmm.... That looks interesting. It looks like it's come out of a later model Toyota, I know that the Highlanders (Klugers down in AU) came out with those. Goldy, the idea is that you carry a 'Electronic key' and when you're in range it disables the security and allows the car to start by pushing...
