I was driving in the carpool lane of the freeway today when a concrete piece the size of a large marble skipped and hit my windshield...
it didn't break it, but it's has left a series of ring-like cracks that i cannot feel from the inside....but obviously it'll have to be replaced...
he now refuses to sell the Cruiser under any circumstances.
right now i'm currently pushing 187K miles....so it'll be difficult to sell anyway, but he says he'll drive it until the engine dies.
finished my repack last week....just forgot to post here.
i posted here for the first time couple of months ago when my local dealership gave me a price quote going over $9000 in order to replace the front axle (after they heard the clicking), so about a month-ish ago i ordered parts from...
i've completed one side...
opened up the other side and cleaned everything, just have to repack all the bearings and the birf and put it back together..disassembling the drivers side went about three times the speed of the passenger side....:D :D
Ordered the CDAN pack some weeks ago...finally started this afternoon (after scrambling for some last minutes tools and getting new tires.
few things i noticed...
the torque wrench and breaker bars are pretty much vital to this project....
shop towels and degreasers do...
thanks for the tips folks...
i might PM you Biff.
but we're going to tackle this mess at my mechanic's place. hopefully he's got most of the sockets and whatnot.
I just received the front-axle service pack from CDan (thanks mucho!)...and will probably tackle the project in the coming weekend. or maybe the next.
any last minute tips and pointers i should be aware of?
i had no idea the light comes on with 5 gallons still left.
that's like 60+ miles left to go!!!!!
i've been fooled for an entire YEAR!!!
snowwolf...do you watch top gear? ( a little OT but i wanted to know)
now that i've moved and settled in...my dad and i have come to the conclusion that it's time to end the funky noises from my car (clicking @ full turn, heavy whine from shaft).
I've read how other users purchased parts from CDan...
are there any decent dealers or shops that will...
as the title goes....
it keeps coming on. then off. then on real quick. then off.
sometimes it's on for a minute or two. then it's gone.
is this a common issue? i'll have to take it to my mechanic to check it out, but i wanted to know if this is a relatively common issue.
my oil...
yes i do...but it's the uphill run that really kill me...i tutor children up there, neighborhood called Palos Verdes. it's just a constant grade uphill...the only levelling they've got is a flat wherever there is an intersection...everything is just up and up.. (the downhill is pretty...
i get like 12. i do a constant 4 mile hill run every day...and it's taking a big toll on the gas mileage. for the sake of weight i only run with a half tank at a time...but the hill climbs are just killing me.
that sure seems like a mistake....cuz first of all...9006 and 9005 plugs may look similar...but they require modification to fit in the opposing slot, and secondly...using a 9005 on a 9006 unit MIGHT burn out the wiring due to the extra wattage as well as amp pull.
I learned to speak English in the 3rd grade. Before i could put a real sentence together, i learned how to cuss in English. As i got into Middle School...cussing was rampant. High-school...even teachers cuss (not as extreme as the F word however). Now that i'm in college..hell, cussing is just...
