1986 Toyota 4x4 22re - no spark. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Please Help!

That's a good idea. How do you go about testing the fuel pump while running through the gears? what's a good way to test spark / injector performance while driving? these things don't exactly have OBD2 ports to plug in a laptop and use EFI Live to see what all's going on lol

1986 Toyota 4x4 22re - no spark. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Please Help!

Okay, time for an update, sorry it has taken me a little while to get back. As far as my plan of action, I did go ahead and replace the alternator with another AZ unit...and voila! it fired right up. So, problem solved, it was a bad remanufactured distributor, right? Wellllll.... So now it...

1986 Toyota 4x4 22re - no spark. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Please Help!

Toast, I would love to go back to factory OG equipment, but unfortunately I can't afford $450 for an original igniter...and I've tried for a week to find units in salvage yards. These trucks are extremely rare in Georgia. If you have any sources, please let me know. Pappy, It is definitely...

1986 Toyota 4x4 22re - no spark. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Please Help!

1986 toyota 4x4 pickup, 22re, no spark despite strenuous efforts. 7-8 years ago I had replaced the igniter / coil with an igniter and box style coil from a 1995 truck using butt connectors to plug in the newer unit (s***ty, I know) because I liked the clip-on plug wires that the newer units...

Electrical wizzards: Please help! 1986 toyota truck voltage / amp draw isuses

The fan draws a max of 25-30a, it runs just fine off of a 30a fuse, and has for years. The biggest event that happens is the flickering of the high beams with equally reflective bouncing of the volt meter in cab. Also, the ground cable off the battery gets really hot...which leads me to think...

Electrical wizzards: Please help! 1986 toyota truck voltage / amp draw isuses

Ok guys, so I have been having some issues with draining my battery and weak winch line pulls, so I did a swap for a 120A Jaguar alternator from a 96 Jag XJ6, as I found that the wiring harness plugs right in to the Jag unit and doubles the amperage output. I also purchased a huge Deka Deep...

22RE has a bad skip. Any Ideas?

No, the truck does not have a lopey sound...even tho i have a .440 lift cam, it should have a smooth idle (22reperformance camshaft). I may have to check the cap...thats a good idea. could have a bad terminal or something. OH, and no codes at all....or at least no blinkey engine symbol...

22RE has a bad skip. Any Ideas?

As the title reads, my 22re has a pretty ugly skip during idle. The skip is not noticeable under power while driving, but is very evident and frequent at idle. I have replaced all spark plugs and gaped them properly. I have new OEM cap and rotor, as well as wires. Timing has been...

    Porting a 22RE head - worth it?

The head in my truck is ported and polished from 22reperformance, and I can tell a difference in the top end (also running .440 lift camshaft). I am running factory exhaust, and have been told that a header will really help the ported head open up nicely...

    All-pro = awesome?

I've been told that the online stores all have pretty much the same equipment in their kits...springs, hy-steer setups, etc...just re-badged with their brand. Not sure on how true this may be, but it kind of makes sense...all the kits are about the same, all cost about the same, and pictures...
