While I haven't started my swap yet, I ended up buying an 08 Escalade that drives.
I think your question is really dependent on resources. I have storage, a big trailer, and (soon) a garage workshop. My thought was I can scavenge everything I need off of the escalade, perhaps part out some of...
There's a lot of good products which have been discussed on this site. But remember, anything is infinitely better than doing nothing. Definitely get under there and bomb anything you can see.. once in the Spring, and once in the Fall.
@tyjova I don't know what your resources are - so my suggestion may or may not work for you.
I was in your position about a year or two ago. I was paralyzed by engine size, generation, trans compatibility, cost, ect. I eventually had a few realizations that helped me.
First, don't get hung...
I had the same issue as @Mikel 80 .
I followed this post: 92 FJ80 SHIFT LOCK CONTROL COMPUTER - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/92-fj80-shift-lock-control-computer.1047740/post-14922952 and replaced the transistor about a year ago. It's working fine still.
The 570 does have a low oil light.
It's probably the 'cam tower leak'. Search for that. It's visible through the wheel well, and hits the exhaust, so you wouldn't have spots in your driveway / garage.
Have you considered replacing the condenser with a newer style, and having someone make a hard line that works with the new condenser, and the remainder of the old system?
I did a regear of my 91 several years ago (perhaps a decade?) when I was less experienced. It's fairly easy.
I posted pictures of my lash pattern on here. People helped guide me through it.
There's two check valves in that general area. One has three hoses that connect to it, one has two. The air barrel is the air filter housing.

There's a vac diagram... maybe it helps.
I agree about feeling a difference between the three modes.
However, with my truck I always thought that I feel small things (expansion joints, uneven pavement) more than I should, and large things (big bumps, potholes, really crappy roads) were properly dampened. I always attributed it to...
Listen, I know this sounds dumb, but I'm speaking from 1st hand experience. Are all your spark plug boots seated correctly? On mine, the rearmost plug wire is tight (cyl 6), and I drove my rig for literally years on 5 cylinders.
Other that that, I would check vacuum leaks, and your intake...
I've had both, and I work on my own vehicles. The 100 series, and 200 series are pretty much equal when it comes to working on them.
The AHC changed a bit between the 100 and 200, but aside from complaining about the location of the pump - they're both simple to work on.
In an effort to help, why don't you give us all the symptoms so we can diagnose it a bit? Is there a check engine light? What are the codes if so? Is your air intake tube ripped, letting unmetered air into the system? Are the vacuum lines intact?
I only ask because I'd be surprised if you...
I went through this a while ago, and I just hired a 3rd party appraiser for about $300.
In my experience, you have two options - spend a lot of time and effort, and hope for the best. Or pay for a professional appraisal, email it to them, and point your finger at it every time they offer you...
I replaced what I assume were my original globes at 183k. I had a problem getting them unthreaded at first too. A large breaker bar is key.
For me, I noticed no difference after I replaced the globes. But I did change the AHC fluid twice since my ownership began around 90k.
Perhaps my old...
I only ask because I thought it was initially announced to be opening in the Fall of 2023.
And I agree, slow. I did some google searches, and couldn't find any news newer than August of 2022.
For rustproofing of blind spots: Drill a hole, insert your rustproofing of choice (mine is generally fluid film), and then weld the hole shut. Fluid film creeps - so I usually just hope it gets on the back of the plug weld too.
