I have a Stihl FS80 trimmer that runs great but after running it fit 10-15 minutes it will die and not start again. could i have a bad ignition component, or ? I would also like to find a new piston + rings for it. THANKS !
Ok , If you take your spool off or the fixed length short sections of trimmer line and keep them submerged in a container of water when you aren't using the trimmer you will be absolutely amazed at how much longer your trimmer line lasts. I mean up to 10 times longer ! I prefer to use a fixed...
Hi all, I want to buy a gas powered pressure washer to wash my new Log truck with a foaming canon nozzle, It needs to have a 50' hose preferably with a hose reel on the unit. I want something reliable with a good pump and probably a Honda motor ? and one with tires. What are your experiences...
I have my FS66 carburetor off for servicing and I don't see a reed valve on the black intake piece . I thought that all of these little engines had a reed valve induction. What's the story here, is my trimmer a model that doesn't use a reed valve ?
I am curious as to where the many sellers on Ebay get their used power equipment and parts ? I know that where I live there is a local scrap metal business that serves as a repository for all the worn out equipment thrown away by the C.C.C. and various county road maintenance crews , etc. I'm...
Is it OK to use old saw gas mix in your car/truck ? I have some saw gas that is more than 6 months old so I don't want to use it in my saw or trimmer or even my lawn mowers. I don't want to just dump it but certainly don't want to hurt the motor in my vehicles.
Hi Dan, I have a Stihl 075 with the Fairbanks Morse type starter. The starter is only engaging on the last half of the starter rope's travel. Is it correct to assume the pawl itself is bad (weak), or could the starter cup itself be too worn ? can the starter cup be measured for wear ? Thanks ...
Hi , I've got an older Stihl FS 65 AVR trimer with a Walbro carburetor. I'm trying to find the OEM # for a carburetor kit for it. The # on the carb. is a little hard to read but I think it says WT388.1 or 38B.1. The trimmer's S/N is 13665300 and there is also a tag on the trimmer that reads...
I replaced the starter cord on my 075 AV saw and now the starter pawls won't engage the cup on the flywheel. how the heck does this work ? I assumed that centrifugal force made the pawls engage the starter cup , but am I missing some thing here ?
Does anyone know if a wood splitting maul can be welded ? I loaned one of mine and now it has a crack on the backside (the flat faced side) where they tried to use it as a sledge hammer. thanks buddy
Hi , I have a Stihl 076AV saw and I want to adjust the high speed jet. How do you do this safely ? Do you clamp the saw down somehow ? And I'm assuming that I need to leave the bar and chain on while I do this ? The reason I need to adjust the carb is because I took it apart + cleaned it. The...
I have a DeWalt 18V nicad 4 tool set and I was thinking about rebuilding my own battery packs. My question is about soldering the tabs on the new sub C batteries.
The tabs are attached on the factory packs with a spot welder and I was wondering how difficult it is to hand solder them instead...
Hello all, has anyone ever rebuilt their own cordless tool battery packs ? I've got a bunch of DeWalt 18V nicad tools and I am sick of buying batteries for them. The service life of their batteries is terrible. And I've always been real careful to use them correctly- not charge them when warm...
