A local panel beater (Townsville -Oz) and I did the work dec '99.
By water resistant do you mean no ingress of water, or the interior wont be affected by the water...?
; )
I havent seen any in a 40 yet but my 60 is running a 6.2 and I've seen plenty of others, 80 series, 75 series, N***** GQ/GU's, etc.
Great engines, loads of torque, more power than standard and great fuel economy! :D
Could be a number of things. This is in no particular order. Is the fuel clean? No water/contaminants? Rust in the tank can block the pickup. Blocked filter? Is the fuel tank breather/filter blocked-the little white one in the 1/4 panel? Is the coil/plugs/leads in good nick- could be breaking...
Pull the bottom off of the t/case & check out the condition of gears/brgs. Check for discoloured gears/brgs &/or loss of hard casing. Probably buggered from lack of oil at a prior stage.
Down here a lot of people run 235/85x16's on 16x5.5-7" rims. My 60 is currently running 265/75x16's (32x16) on 16x8" rims. No probs at all. When they wear out I'm going up to 285/75x16's on the same rims.

Thanks for the heads up pismojim. Dont spose you know how much and where I can order some from? Also whats this MAF or Man-A-Fre shop all you blokes mention every now and then?

I'm a newbie and from Oz and I'm curious about the vents on the front guards of the 60's you guys get over there. ???I presume that they are a vent to let the heat out of the engine bay? How robust are they? What do they cost and are they hard to get? I live in the Top End of Australia and I'm...
