Hey all, long time no see!!! I'm bringing back my BJ44V back to life after a hibernation of 5 years.

Hi there,
I think i have a problem with wiring/ground/coontact in my bj44 - 24v
A few days ago I noticed other drivers warned me with their lights flashing that my headlights were too bright. After stopping the car, I discovered that my low beam (second position on the headlight knob) had...
Hi All, I have a 1981 BJ44 with factory AC installed, unfortunately the condenser has a leak which cannot be repaired. Therefore I am looking for an aftermarket 'plug & play' replacement ( in both in dimensions as its connectors.) Or with minor adjustments.
I assume that all Toyota LC Factory...
Hi All,
Both my front fenders of the BJ44 are starting to get badly rusted.
Now, I have seen many replacement fenders offered, but they are all for LHD cruisers. The RHD version has a cut out for the steering house on the right side fender, which a LHD version has not etc etc.. not sure if the...
Hi All,
its been a very long time, but I am back and ready to get my beloved BJ44 back on the road!
In short, this is what happened:
I restored a 1981 BJ44 in 2011, and drove it for 3 happy years.
Then a valve guide dropped in one of the cylinders and the 2B engine was basically shot.
As I...
Hi All, its been a long while, but I am finally having some time and funds to continue getting my BJ44 back on the road.
After my BJ44 had an unfortunate incident in where a piece of metal dropped from behind the inlet valve into one of my cilinders and hammered on my piston. A rebuild of the...

Hi all,
Last sunday, i started my BJ44 with 2B engine ( 130.000 kms ) and a loud knocking came from the engine, i stopped the engine right away. repeated the starting procedure a few times to pinpoint what was going on.
Decided to transport the car to the garage of a friend of mine, and...

Hopefully some members at Mud can help me out with this:
For my bj44, I would like to make a reproduction of the Man a Fre brush guard, currently sold at their site. Reason for this is cutting down the costs. Buying and shipping this brush guard to the Netherlands will cost me way more than to...
Hey cruisers,
Last wednesday I replaced my 30+ year old saggy suspension of my 1981 Mid Wheel Based BJ44, This was always a point of discussion here at Mud, whether there is an existing solution for the MWB cruisers or if the suspension needs to be custom made. Well I can now tell you that...
hi all, just wanted to start this thread to see what options we have for fitting OEM or OEM style aftermarket fog lamps on our 40 series.
This whole thing started with my cruiser that had an OEM fog light switch installed, but no lights on the front bumper. I like the small OEM lights, and...
HI mudders, since the winter is on its way and there time enough, its a good time to start thinking about fixing the OEM Nippon Denso A/C unit that's fitted in my 1981 JDM BJ44 (24v). Its not charged at this moment, but would like to fix/test everything before i go to an airco service for...

Hi mudders, I have an OEM fog light switch in my JDM BJ44, but its not connected.
After searching this place, I got no clear answers on the following questions:

- I have 2 wires ending in a connector, also have the...
hi mudders, I have an odd problem with my fuel gauge..

dear all,
I have the idea my fuel sending unit got stuck after filling up my tank a while ago. It stays in the far right position further that the F mark. I have driven about 150 km since, but the gauge hasn't changed position. guess it should be somewhere 3/4 now. Gauge itself is not stuck...
