    FJ45 - Swapping in FJ73 Running Gear?

Cheers Gumby. Having looked into the rebuild of the 2f and what work needs to be done for the 5 speed a donor vehicle seems the right option.

    FJ45 2f to 3f from 80 Series HEI Gas

Guys – bit of background. Love 4wding and camping and the 40 series trucks of which I own three with the misses - my skills are really in body restoration and somewhat lacking in mechanicals/engines. Our 83 FJ45 Troop Carrier is our daily runner but also set up for touring. She runs the...

FJ40 Hi lift jack front bumper mount options?

Hi ya. The jack will effectively sit on the foot panel behind the mud guard. If anything it would act similarly to brush bars when stuck by branches. Take on board that tight fit through rock face would potentially collect it. Funnily enough I,m really glad it doesn't rattle at all.

FJ40 Hi lift jack front bumper mount options?

Seriously? Not been off road? What ever you are doing this weekend - cancel and take that rig out. You have a go any where any time vehicle and needs some time in the dirt. Good to engage 4wd every so often too for its own health. Looks to be a great rig.

FJ40 Hi lift jack front bumper mount options?

The real beauty of the FJ Mount is that it can be mounted just in front of the door opening and it will not interfere with the door and you can still open the flaps (not sure the correct name but the things that let water in when you forget to close em). Biggest selling point for me was the...

FJ40 Hi lift jack front bumper mount options?

Guess from the outset i,m writing from an Aussies perspective where we have to deal with animal strikes more regularly than you'se. Mounting on the bar would tend to tell me you don't need the bar at all if your prepared to mount a jack on it. We started out strapping ours down internally...

    FJ40 Tours (ie renting a FJ40)

More the place than the time. Just keen to do a tour where i drive but follow a lead. Rather than sitting beside - behind a driver. Australian 4wd trips are either sit in or tag along. Looking for tag along but in a hire FJ40. Perhaps when mine are up and running i'll start a thread for a...

I noticed that coolcruiser.com and offroadfabricator.com and doing a quarterly assessment of a HFS system on a bj42. might be worth reviewing....in there case its for 4inches..
