    Wanted  Advance Adapters 712579

I need an Advance Adapters kit 712579. It's the Dodge NV4500HD to Landcruiser 6 cyl (2f) kit. I called AA and they no longer make the kit. If you have one sitting around I'd love to put some money in your pocket! I would still be interested if you only had the adapter plate, I'm sure I...

    Tire Upgrade Quandry

Go to a different store and ask there. Some are sticklers to the liability rules and some don't even look. I've noticed a lot of variation from location to location at tire chains.

    Temperature gauge always cold

When my temp gauge wasn't going above the first mark and my heat wasn't blowing very hot it ended up being the t-stat. I replaced the t-stat, seal and o-ring and now the gauge and heat work like they should. That was on my fj60.

    Fasteners

I've used spare Subaru nuts and bolts on my Tacoma and FJ60 without problems. They are all the same JIS bolts. As long as they aren't all rusty I have no problem using them.

    Starting issue/battery drain...

I just went through something similar with my Tacoma. It ended up being the starter. It was drawing a constant 2.2A. Disconnected the started and it dropped to .005A. I guess a starter full of water is a bad thing. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Hook up the multimeter negative to...

    Tires size on a 60? 32's?

I was running 265/75/16's on my stock 250k mile suspension with no problems. No rubbing and it didn't feel any slower than the 31x10.5x15's on it now. 84 FJ60

    Fron bumper design-need your input

Could you drill 2 sets of mounting holes to allow it to be mounted "standard" and 3" closer? That way you would have 1 design that would please both sides. If I really liked the design of the bumper I would have no problem cutting the front to make it fit. I'm planning to fab my own because...

TSM Split Tcase Disc Brake Prototype #2

Any updates from people running the TSM parking brake? I was down there a couple weeks ago and the parts look nice. How are they holding up? Still able to hold the rig on a steep hill?

    Value Question

I'd say it's a good price if the engine and trans were just gone through and you have all the records. If you plan to bastardize it like some of us and swap in other engine/trans combos then I'd look for another one. If you want a good condition truck with the stock running gear then it sounds...

    Transfer Assembly with Pictures

This will be useful in a few weeks. Thanks for the pics!

This is a California need to know basis...

IMHO a stock FJ60 is not worth thousands of dollars. I bought mine knowing it was a 26 year old vehicle that would need a lot of work and maintenance. I bought it as a base to build into exactly what I wanted. If you just want to spend a couple thousand on a comfortable, reliable vehicle that...

    I found all parts. Thanks.

    OME rear heavy spring problem

Did you compare both springs when they were off the truck? What was different?

Wanted  FJ60 transfercase and extra pto gears

*EDIT* I found everything. Thanks MUD! I'm collecting parts for my engine/trans swap and I'd like a spare transfer case so I can get the NV4500 and split case bolted up before I pull out the old stuff. Any FJ60 transfercase will work. The closer to Denver the better but I'm willing to pay...

    NV4500HD for my 60.

I don't have any experience but Advance Adapters does sell a full kit to mate the nv4500 to the 2f and split transfer case.

For All the Guys Running 63" Chevy Springs

How does that compare to the 63" rear and Chevy 57" in the front?

    nv4500 (or transfer case)noise?

The NV4500 takes a specific gear oil. If you don't use the right stuff it will eat your synchros quickly. Keep that in mind if you change fluids.

    Pilot bearing removal.

When I did the clutch in my Taco I rented the puller and slide hammer from Autozone. I took the new pilot bearing with me to make sure it fit. Checkers puller was too big and Autozone's smallest one was perfect. It was something crazy like $170 but as long as you return it the next day you get...

Wanted  FJ62 leaf springs near Denver

I'm starting to collect parts for my 84' SOA and I'd like to upgrade to FJ62 springs. I'm looking for good condition, fully intact, stock 62 leaf packs for all 4 corners. The closer to Denver the better. PM me if you've got some. Thanks, Josh

84 FJ60 transmission and transfer case overhaul

I peeked under this morning and the main puddle I'm seeing is engine oil. The oil pan does have a film on it but oil is dripping from the mount in front of the clutch cover and from the clutch cover. I could see the rear output on the transfer case also has a trail of greasy nasty mess coming...
